Fantastic news Snoozy. I've just read your whole thread, superb outcome. I also have to commend you on your positive attitude throughout. Even on your down days, you were still able to give sound advice to others. An amazing quality to have. Now don't get complacent.......keep fighting, you sooooooo deserve to be where you are today, sober and on the correct path back to optimum health.

The liver will repair itself if you stop drinking. My dad had cirrhosis back in 1967. His skin and eyes turned yellow. He looked like he was pregnant with triplets. He checked into the U of Minnesota hospital. He was told he was going to die two times and given last rites by the polish-catholic priest. Months later, he checked out of the hospital, got married, and took up tennis and polka dancing. He was the picture of health, and had a wonderful life. You are not jaundice yet so you are in better shape than my dad. You can change now and have a good, healthy rest of your life. Time is not up yet!
I HAVE REACHED 6 MNTHS SOBER TODAY ;-)
THE BEGINNING WAS THE HARDEST PART . I AM SO HAPPY !
I TRULY THOUGHT I WAS BEYOND HELP . ITS NEVER TOO LATE , EVER .
MY MIND AND BODY HAVE HEALED , I THOUGHT I WAS TOO FAR GONE .
I WILL NEVER DRINK AGAIN ;-) I HAVE A FUTURE NOW .
I NEED TO COME BACK AND READ THIS THREAD EVERY NOW AND THEN TO REMIND ME OF WHERE I ONCE WAS AND NEVER WANT TO BE AGAIN. :-)

That's great news Snoozy! I remember when I first came to SR, your thread was always at the top of the list as you posted it right when I started posting. You have been one of the key inspirational people on my sober journey and I cannot thank you enough for taking the time to be supportive for me while you were taking care of yourself.
It really is amazing how once the poison is removed how much better things get! It occurred to me the other day my abdominal pain has been gone for months. I'm so thankful for that!

Posts like this are why I love SR and why I stick around. It's really inspiring to hear about stories like yours. I hope people read this and understand that there is hope! No matter how bad things look, it can get better.
Way to go!
Congratulations Snoozy! Six months is a great achievement, I'm delighted for you.
You will have noticed a great improvement in your health at six months, I had further improvement up to where I am now (nine months) so maybe there is more to come for both of us. Enjoy the moment.
