Alcoholics are tough cookies when we need to be.
Be strong and know that yo are loved by many.
This isn't the end for you.
Its a beginning and the end of your drinking.
In my thoughts.
Till tomorrow.

Hey, we're here for you in whatever way we can. Including as targets of frustration, I can't imagine you would be doing something even that problematic (but if you do, that's OK too).

Sorry if I'm in and out, just laying down, reading, trying to sleep.

What Dee said, Snoozy. Cirrhosis has stages, just as there are stages before it even gets to that. It can also improve greatly if you do not drink and adopt a healthy diet.

We are here for you. My heart aches for you. I was there. If it helps you, stay posting and talk it out. Skip a day of work if you have to. Take care of you.

This is nothing that hasn't been said, but the liver IS extremely resilient. My body began reversing alcoholic hepatitis after just a few days of sobriety and nutritious eating. Best of luck and good thoughts.

Hopefully the news will be good, Snoozy. Here's my advice, and it's not medical...never stop fighting! Regardless of medical advice (and not putting down doctors at all!), it's never over while you're above ground. Be thankful for every day you have. You're alive! None of us know the day or the hour.

If you stay sober and follow medical advice you'll have the best chance you can get. It's only too late when you give you.

Stay sober and fight! Do it for yourself, for your hubby and for your kids.

SnoozyQ, I am 15 month's sober. The warning shot that lead me to quitting was my liver. I was getting pains in my liver every time I took a drink for 2 months before I quit. Your liver is still functioning. It just can no longer take the abuse you were putting it through. First thing first as you should know is that your drinking days are done if you want to live. For me, this was a very good thing. It changed everything for me. When drinking isn't an option anymore, it just made it much easier to quit and stay quit.
Second, there are supplements out there that can support your liver. Research them. I take a supplement out there called Super Milk Thistle. I know you are going to think this is crazy, but I started taking this supplement after I saw what a dramatic difference it made for my dog when he was diagnosed with liver disease. My dog was puking up his food every day and didn't have much longer to live. My vet had him on many supplements, but they weren't doing much for him. His liver counts were off the charts. Within 2 weeks of taking Super Milk Thistle, all of his liver numbers had gone back to normal. It was remarkable. He ended up living another 5 years . (I know, I know it is a dog. However, I came across the supplement while researching my own alcoholism. Stupidly enough, I never started taking it till after I quit. Please research this supplement).
3rd is you need to start eating healthy. You need to start living healthy. Less processed food. More whole food/fruits and vegetable. Exercise! Even if it's just walking. You need to get food moving in and out of your body quicker so that it taxes your liver less.
This is not a death sentence. This is a life sentence. You need to go 180 degrees in the other direction. In 15 months, I have lived more and participated in life more than I had in the previous 15 years. This is not an end. It is a beginning!

Thanks . I find this time ( 2am) when i wake , to be my darkest. Home alone , me and my thoughts , hard to switch off the gazillion thoughts . Why does it always seem more scary in the middle of the night? :-(

Hello you.
Just done me laundry!
These time zones mess with my head.
Even at 2am your time you can be sure there is an alcoholic out there that you can help with your resolve and determination to get well soon and for good....
