OK, my wife is at work, and my daughter is about to go to work - leaving me alone in the house for the first time since my last bender. Alone at home - that's my favorite time/place to drink alcohol...

Who has two thumbs and will stay sober today?

This Guy!

I'll be looking to this thread for support this weekend. First challenge is in about 4 hours when my office cocktail hour kicks off. Free open bar and greasy food about ten steps from my desk. AV will be screaming at me not to pass up the opportunity.

S99 we are here for you!

When AV says anything put it off. It has no power without you approving it.

It cannot go get his or her own drink so AV needs you. You don't need it. So in 4 hours as you go about what you want let AV a scream all it wants.

You hold all the cards and power.

Let us know how you are doing when you leave work.

K

Day 27. My partner might be heading round a mates house so that will make Friday night a bit easier as I still feel a bit guilty we don't socialise as much as we used to - we'd be out beering it up by now. (Need to address that with some sober activities, working on it).

Tomorrow I'm going to use the advantage of not waking up with a hangover and live up to my login name and sort out the rotten wood soffits on the front porch.

Have a good weekend everyone!

3 hrs 30 mins time rush to the toilet make some bad noises on the way "ohhhhh" "urrrgh " . when you get there hang about for 5 mins ... splash your face with water to look like you're perspiring mess your clothes up a bit ... return to your desk holiding your stomach looking at the floor and like you want to be sick on anyone who talks to you ... run off to safety at the first oppertunity and do the cocktail thing when it's not a big deal .

Works for me every time , i'm well known for my delicate stomach which in my book is better than being known for drinking far too much .

However you deal with it good luck , M

Sounds like it would offer some entertainment to my coworkers. But i think I may just stay at my desk and visit SR. Or perhaps I could sneak out early. That sounds even better

Another payday Friday. I don't know how many sober Fridays I have now. I remember early sobriety and what getting through Friday meant. I would sit here all day reading.

Listening to my employees would send me up a wall. OK well that has'nt changed lol.

However, craving the drink has changed. I don't. Now I am composing a list in my head of stuff to buy before I go home. I am not afraid to go to the stores on Fridays anymore. I drive sober with both eyes open. Oh my I feel so grown up. I can do anything I want to.

Weasel...I can say the same for you. Do you guys realize how different you "sound" in your posts? It's very cool to witness.

Seems like most people are ticking along nicely so far. Good. Well done! I had a productive morning before work. Got my haircut and bought a new shirt which was expensive but still. Started work midday and head home soon after 11. I'll go to bed as soon as I get back as I want to wake up early on Saturday morning without a hangover and enjoy a full weekend sober - my third in a row all being well.

And then I get a call at 5:30 giving me a new assignment that will occupy my entire weekend. Every single relapse is prompted by an event like this. Time for a new job.

I used to 'get drunk at' things that irritated me. Boss, wife, sister, plumber, lawn mower, working overtime, etc. They'd set me off and I'd drink and drink and drink.

They never seemed to notice.

Im back from work , ive got 25 days down, slept like 14 hours yesterday , my body needed it .
I have a long weekend ,I live in Canada , new holiday ,"Family Day" on monday. I would guaranteed get hammered today ,the Friday after work before a long weekend , that is a no brainer ..feels a little weird i must admit, but i believe the longer you stay sober (25 days) the easier it is to forget how awful you felt drinking,or the withdrawls afterwards ..
I did have a little voice say to me about 30 min ago ..hey dumbass you know its a long weekend dont you? why arent we going to the liquor store? I did visualize that Rye and Coke for a few minutes ..ok time to get the coffee brewing : >
