best of luck bro, but just remember the most important thing. Although you must be feeling like absolute garbage right now, 3 months from now you will feel much better and your mistakes will slowly disappear into the past.

Hey guys, after hitting bottom over 4 years ago, April 21st was my 4th year of sobriety, fast forward to today, business is great, approved for a mortgage and now looking at homes with my fiance.

Life is wonderful, no more set backs, building a future and staying off the poison, its only holding you back costing you time and money.

If you in your 20s make the change now, I regret I did not do it sooner, I look at people my age and they are much further ahead.

Now my lawyer owes me money for some work I did for him, that's a big change.

Just focus on moving forward and picking up the pieces....don't look back and ask why. Move forward and choose each day to not drink....things can only get better from there. I've had to deal with a couple car accidents and several embarrassing incidents.....it's not easy to get over or get past, but all you can do is move forward. Each moment is a chance to start over.

7 years 4 months 15 days, sober, happy and stable. Sorry you had to read an old thread, but if it reaches you and you connect with it, wonderful! When I read it, its amazing the change in my life, the emptiness and the voids are now filled. Not only my life, but the people in my life. Todays its a smaller circle then back in the days, but glad I made the PIVOT on 4/21/12.

Thanks for the support when I needed you!

So inspirational. It’s always great news when we get our drunk asses off of the road and out of the bars and into being productive members of society. 7 years is just absolutely incredible!!

Your story is SO similar to mine. DV, DUIs, driving without a license, late Mondays, early Fridays, wasting life away.

Thanks so much for coming back to share your story!

Sorry you had to read the entire thread, but 10 years 2 month sober. Life is better then ever, even in a crappy world we see today, I have safety, security, my license, multiple businesses. A wonderful family. Gave up the old life to start new, best decision of my life. Stick to the plan on getting sober, if that means leaving the old crowd behind, do it. I moved 50 miles away, started new hobbies, build classic cars as a hobby, if I didn't know how to do it, i taught myself. The best thing is I get to keep everything I build, instead of fire sales to pay for attorneys and courts. Build life equity with my beautiful wife that does not drink, teach our son that is not important to party, the kid has all As, plays football first string and works very hard. Its been an amazing trip, I wish i did it sooner. Hope this can be inspiration to anyone, you can do it, its one day at a time, then one week at a time, it turns into months, then years, it goes by fast.

Freebird 1 signing off.
