Hi IO - I am so sorry about your Uncle's passing. Will definitely include your Aunt and yourself in my prayers tonight.

I know I've gained too much weight when...

...the simple act of walking rubs the fabric of my pants thin and busts out some holes.

They should put extra fabric down there!

(...or maybe I should just lose some weight...)

I wish I could throw the biggest party ever for all Whiner's where we could

just be together and hang out and have fun for a day and forget all of our

crap. Wouldn't that be the cat's pajamas?

:ghug: Yeah....

I just found out they are cutting my hours at work, so 2 sisters (18 and 19 years old, live at home and have NO bills) can come back to work after a month's vacation. I've been there 3-1/2 years, have been through TWO robberies, was hurt this last one, and this is how I'm "thanked" for my loyalty?

I left a note for my store manager to call me to discuss this, since it wasn't him that made the schedule. The manager who did make it, won't even let me work at 5 on Fri (what I was scheduled) when I have to meet the detective working on the robbery to look at pictures.

I am NOT a happy camper!

Just a silly expression that caught on, and has endured the test of time.

There's not really a good explanation for how it started, unfortunately. It was part of a popular series of phrases in the 1920's about animals and body parts including the bee's knees, the snake's hips, the clam's garter, the eel's ankle, the elephant's instep, the tiger's spots, the leopard's stripes, the sardine's whiskers, and the pig's wings. Whoever first came up with cat's pajamas might have chosen the word "pajamas" because pajamas were new and cool in the 1920s, but basically, they were just going with the flow. Personally, I'm glad "cat's pajamas" stuck around instead of "elephant's instep."
