Getting a late start because I went to bed way too early and consequently got up way way too early. Sooooo much better than a putrid hangover. So it's a win even though I feel dingy as a bat. Just going to forge through the day until a nap opportunity pops up later

Day 9 for me. Long day at work for so far. My mood is improved from yesterday so I’m grateful for that.

WTG Basset. I’m in day eight. (I think…it might be nine…)
The shuttle takes us to the airport at 2am. We have to take this one because it’s the only one that will get us there before our flight. It will mean I’ll have almost four hours to kill at the airport! I’m anxious. There are bars open quite early. Six am, I think. But my husband will be with me. Going to buy a good book at their bookstore. You guys know that I read a lot. I haven’t been to a book store since I last flew.
Excited to see my family.

Also,my doctor prescribed some flight meds. Which are so important. (I don’t have a problem with drugs or with prescription meds, thankfully).

Doing some recovery reading, people with a mental illness have a "no-fault" illness. I didn't cause the PTSD that ruined my hopes and dreams. Same with addiction, people do not choose to be addicted anymore they would choose an early death by cancer. In essence a "no-fault" disorder.
Do not despair, you're only responsible for your recovery and that's all. Everything else is just noise.

I've given up on getting any sleep tonight. But it's after midnight so day 8.
Went to an NA meeting yesterday. It was ok, but I'm not sure I even want to give up certain non-alcohol things. Although technically there is a small amount of alcohol in the DXM cough syrup.
