Just checking in: got through the work day, feeling very happy to have drinking off the table.
Long chat with a friend today -she definitely helped with perspective around the relationship thing.
Off to find something for dinner and then ice cream + reality TV, lol.

I hope everyone's days were a bit better as well.

Thanks for the congrats folks. 😁

Leshar I hope your feeling a bit better as the day has worn on. Tomorrow is another day too, I wish you a happy one.

Sam, I too actually like being alone. I like calm/peace and I always find that outside influences bring stresses that I really don't want or need. Tbh Iv probably drank more around certain individuals because I can't deal with them sober. Lol Looking back at my last 2 relationships I must have had beer goggles on when we met, forget about needing new reading glasses !!
Arrogant as you like too. Doubt either had ever looked in the mirror naked sideways with their inflated self worth. Off you pop, I got better things to do on a full moon... preferably Jason Mamoa 😉

Hey guys I just thought. How about tomorrow We all have a happy day and cheer ourselves up. What about if we all tell a funny story about ourselves or just something that made us laugh out loud .
Could be a good giggle,
Whos in ? 😁😁😁😁

Good morning from my part of the world (PA)-
I hope everyone is doing a bit better today. I will say I did see the moon overnight and it was gorgeous, so there's that!

Following up on Chevy's idea-
Funny story(sorta): I like snakes, they don't really freak me out and I often "run into" them in my yard, but the other week, I was cleaning out weeds and something popped out of the flowers around my pond--I jumped and screamed so loud! It was a frog. Not a snake, not some evil creature in the undergrowth, just...a frog. So much for my tough exterior-I was brought down by a little frog!
BTW--I swore my neighbors would have called 911 to report a murder, that's how loud I screamed!

So happy to be sober today!

Lol Leshar, that made me giggle. isn't it usually the way. I can totally relate. Similar thing happened to me.
See I don't mind spiders but as long as they are away from me. One day I walked into a spiders web in my doorway and a second later I saw this huge thing move in my hair well I ran around my garden screaming so loud and so desperate" GET IT OUT , GET IT OUT OMG " well neighbours heard my distress at being murdered or something & came running and Im screaming "SPIDER IN MY Hairrrrrrr PLEASE GET IT OUT ARGHHHH " then one of the neighbours reached and picked a leaf out of my hair !! 😚🙈 . Worst of it is I'd only just moved into the area about a week before !! .. I was known from that day as spider lady ! 🤣🤣🤣

I think the fact that I have well over 200 plants is pretty funny. Except for the part where I spend an inordinate amount of time looking after them.

WOW that IS a lot of plants!

Edit to add: something ate my gorgeous Phlox plant over night. Mowed it down and left all the pretty pink flowers on the ground. Meh.

As the world wide plant appreciation chant goes Venus :

"What do we want"? .."More plants" !!
"Where will we put them" ? .. "We don't know " !!

Awesome. And there is a chapter of Plant Addicts Anonymous, if I really get worried about this addiction.

Be careful of that Plant voice Venus fly trap. Stay strong and may the forsythia be with you.

Gladioli you've got a plant (I meant plan) incase it gets worse.

And don't forget me not to take one datura at a time. 😁🌻🌼💐

Lol. I'm a regular on the plantaholics anonymous zoom call feature and an avid reader of Plant dependency no more monthly. You'd think so over the last few weeks anyway. My veg garden is chocca !! .
My 12 steps have consisted of.
1) who to call when your running out of compost.
2) seeds seeds and more seeds.
3) The last date for sowing French beans .
4) Dont fear the Carolina reaper
5) How to build another raised bed.
6) what else can I plant
7) thin those seedlings
8) did a squirrel or a bird do that
9) running out of compost again
10) pinch out those tomatoes
11) make a cup of tea and sit looking at that beautiful patch in wonderment.
12) I wonder if there's anything else I can sow .

🤣🤣🤣

Hello everyone, I'm back. I had a death in my family and needed to travel internationally for 3 weeks. And I am so glad to be able to add, I.did.not.drink. Wow did it seem like alcohol was there at every turn, from the planes to the airports to the services, gatherings, memorials, everything. I am just trying to hold on right now and absorb everything that has happened in the past three weeks, all of the issues in my family (many caused by drinking). So I'm just hanging on. Barely. Glad to be back here. Will be posting more regularly now.
