Class of June 2022 Support Thread Part 2
Hello everyone, I'm back. I had a death in my family and needed to travel internationally for 3 weeks. And I am so glad to be able to add, I.did.not.drink. Wow did it seem like alcohol was there at every turn, from the planes to the airports to the services, gatherings, memorials, everything. I am just trying to hold on right now and absorb everything that has happened in the past three weeks, all of the issues in my family (many caused by drinking). So I'm just hanging on. Barely. Glad to be back here. Will be posting more regularly now.
I hear you.....I am feeding the entire neighbourhood.....squirrels, birds, possible the odd raccoon.
Noooooooooooo........I am truly shocked. That has never happened to me. And hydrangeas are the only plants I have in the ground (I have tons of pot plants). It must be rabbits....
I love this group! I am (mostly) recovered from my travels and love to read how people are sharing about the creatures in their neighborhoods. It reminds me that there is so much to notice without drinking (if I weren't sober, would I notice what the deer ate?? Even if it is annoying. I do love the deer). Committing to another day sober and happy to be here
EXACTLY! ❤️
Before I got sober, I used to resent the birds for waking me up. Really?
I never even saw a sunrise before I got sober.
And like you dear Happy, I would never have gotten involved with the beauty of nature....
And LOL, what do the deer eat? Everything?

Hello everyone
Good to see you Hellotbh , sorry for you loss.
That's some interesting family history venus .
We used to have Yorkshire puddings with our Sunday dinner, my mother used to like the leftover ones with Lyles golden syrup
I didn't get on to SR yesterday, I was out early and back late and tired, so I'm here today. Busy day yesterday, but quiet today, just shopping and another trip to the dump Lol - we're getting rid of some rubbish bit by bit from the backyard
Hope you're ok Stubbs it's a big day for you.

I have way more Worried.
My mum and dad met on the boat from the UK to Australia. My mum was a poorly little Scottish lass who was sick the entire voyage, and my dad was this big hunky RAF guy who looked after her the entire time. Needless to say, the love story continued. My mum went on to Sydney to live with her aunt (as planned) and my dad stayed in Melbourne and got a job as a toolmaker at General Motors Holden. They wrote letters back and forth, every day I think, and it wasn't long before my mum joined my dad in Melbourne. They were married 6 weeks later.
My mum always told me that she wished she that she had had a proper wedding dress, but I think she looked perfect.
Also, my grandma was 54 when she left London to join mum and dad in Melbourne, where she lived the rest of her life. At the exact same age, I left Melbourne to move to the US, to get married and start a new life. It feels serendipitous, and I think my grandma would have been proud of me.

They like ferns a great deal, but right now they are very happy that people plant vegetable gardens (for them, I assume they think), and soon the blackberries will be out which makes them very happy. It's all worth it this time of year when you can catch sight of little fawns.
Back from my canoe trip. Sorry to have read of all of the challenges you all have been going through. I will try to catch up so I can acknowledge all of you. Sam, sorry you drank, but so happy you are still here. Leshar, so sorry you have been depressed. ]
Hello all,
Hello Happy, I'm sorry for your loss.
I'm not in a good place with debilitating depression, so can't contribute at present. Barely functioning. Just wanted to check in.
Thinking of you all.
Stubbs, I hope you're ok. I think it was yesterday your husband was having more tests?

Hello everyone
That's a lovely photo Venus, a lovely looking couple . My mother didn't have a conventional wedding dress either, but it was a very nice dress as I appreciated when I was older. (though I wasn't impressed when she showed me a photo when I was little, but then I thought that to be truly pretty you had to wear a dress like Glinda the Good Witch )
It must have been very exciting to move to America when you were 54. Was it as you expected or were there some surprises?
Good to see you checking in Leshar, so sorry your depression is so bad
How was your canoe trip Alpine ? Any photos?
Quiet day here. Things have been ok, but I'm still very tired and don't have much energy
