I’ll make some noise. Nice cold Saturday here. My wife is doing a virtual conference. I see she’s paying attention with her eyes closed 😆. I’ve gained weight in my almost three months AF. I wanted to focus only on that so I didn’t watch how much I was eating treats. Adds up quick. So yesterday I started the intake control to shed the weight. I lost 40 lbs last year so I know I can do it and thankfully I don’t have that much to lose to get back to my goal. It’s just a mind change a lot like stopping alcohol. I also upped the intensity of my strength training so that will help as well. Have a great day folks.

Hey everyone!

Scott - totally get the long timer thing. The reminder has to stay there, forever, and SR is a good way.

Collin - Yepp, I’m not focusing on counting myself but I m starting to get the 3 months feeling, like body and mind completely clean.

RM - hope you are coping ok with the cold weather!

Em - enjoy the holiday, rain or sunshine time off is precious!

Nice day with the kids here, feel very chilled and peaceful.

Enjoy the Sunday everyone!

Hi everyone
Nice work on the mounting sober days guys
I’m just back from a couple of days away camping. We have a little place in the bush we go to. No phone reception out there so it’s a nice break to get away from it all and back to nature. It’s lovely to get away, but I’m always exhausted when I get home. All that fresh air and walking in the bush I think.

Morning all - that's interesting, Scott - I too am putting weight on, despite drinking something around 900 calories a day less - that really surprised me in the past - I expected to lose weight and I think most people do? How did you lose 40lbs? I could do with some tips.

Morning, Mr. P and Willow - awful weather here again, but we must get out. The exercise is really helping with the sleeping - going to bed is the best part of the day.

Hope we all have a good, sober day.

Em- I use the MyFitnesspal app to track my calorie intake and I become very disciplined about what I eat. I input everything. The app has a huge food database and it’s really easy to enter your own foods or recipes. The app guides you in the setup as to your goals and movement then calculates what your daily intake should be to achieve your weight lose goal. You then track your progress with weight checks and can enter that into the app. I have a WiFi scale that does that automatically. Then it’s just a matter of being very careful how you are eating. Its a bit tough the first few days just like quitting alcohol and it becomes easier as you go. Exercise helps too but something like 90% of weight lose is diet. I hope that helps.

Hello all.

Just thought I'd drop by and ask how people are doing.

I'm on day 30.

Thanks, Scott - did you manage to diet and stay sober at the same time? I think I could only manage one or the other. I've heard of myfitnesspal.

ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.....and then the penny dropped. Sigh. I am so obtuse sometimes......

I had no idea Tyneside is a region there, duh. But I know Geordie slang when I hear it, and a little bell started to ring in my head.

Don't mind me......off I go....

Sending you all love ❤️🧡💛💚

I can diet and stay sober but I can’t drink and diet. No will power then LOL. The first time losing weight was during a 4 month AF period in 2020. Then I drank and didn’t get a long AF period until now. Today is day 95. I’m not going back to the bottle.

Scott ~ sorry to talk Superbowl again, but I am loving this. Just SO much fun. The ads.....and I stopped to see the half-time show which I think was the best EVER.

(Seriously.....they outdid themselves.....I am on a high....Dr Dre, Mary J, Eminem, 50 cent and Snoop....omg).

Really good game so far. Half time show was good. I’m not a huge rap fan but I enjoyed it. I’m waiting to see if Disney drops a Mandalorian 3 trailer.

LOL Cat, we are polar opposites on watching the SB. I totally ignore the commercials and leave the TV at halftime. They're lucky most people are like you or they wouldn't be able to finance the game

I know, I'm boring

Well, to be honest, after living here for almost 5 years, this is the first time I have been into the game. I always loved the ads.....but I watched them on youtube.
This is WAY more fun. Live and surprising.

Well, it turned out to be a great SB game, right down to the end.

I did watch the commercials when I went back Cat and some were quite good. The one with the robot dog stood out for me

Congrats Tyne and Scott. I'm right between you two at 68 days.

Going to head down to the gym later tonight for the first time since they opened up again. Slept in today so I'm going to be up for a while. Planet Fitness is open 24/7 and they are almost empty after about 2 am which works just fine for me sometimes. I've been working out at home in the interim, but I don't have all the equipment I like using. It's going be nice to get out there regularly again. Lately I've felt to much like a recluse for my own good.

Have a great week everyone
