Afternoon all
How are your Saturdays? Every day seems pretty predictable at the moment and you know what? I kind of like that, walk dogs, tidy house, a bit of headspace, a bit of internet. It's all very normal and calm. I like this new normal, or at least new normal for the last 4+months
predictably I have nothing to report, hope everyone is well!
Love Billy x

Predictable, that might be an understatement, lol. Things are bad here with COVID-19. I heard there was a ten hour or more wait just to get a test. We went from around 5,000 cases to over 18,000 in about a month. The sad thing is that some people still aren’t taking it seriously enough.
We went on a 16 mile bike ride this morning before it got too hot. It will be over 100 degrees here for at least 7 straight days. Welcome to Southern Texas, lol.

Morning all - I swing between enjoying the remnants of lock down and wishing it would do one. Really good news was yesterday my daughter (14) went out all afternoon with friends - she really needed that and is planning the same again today. She's hardly seen anyone her own age in four months.
Looks like a nice day, have a good one everyone

Hi everyone
Just winding up Sunday afternoon here. I didn’t sleep well last night so I’m just kicking back relaxing until bedtime. It’s a bit early to go to bed yet, but I think I’ll be out like a light as soon as my head hits the pillow tonight.

Happy Sunday (Monday for you Willow) and the start of a new week. I still remember that Sunday back in early March when I decided to stop drinking. I waited about two weeks before getting back on to SR to make sure I was committed to this. So Sunday’s as a new beginning will always be special to me.
No plans today, my wife to a spill on our bike ride yesterday and had to get 14 stitches in her knee. She also shattered her Apple Watch in the process. So no bike rides for a few weeks while she mends. Now I guess I will have to be the doting husband, lol.

Ouch Bilr! I hope your wife’s knee heals quickly. 14 stitches, wow, she did a proper job on it!
It’s Monday morning here, 7.15am and a bit overcast. I have taken a cup of tea back to bed. I’m not working today so am having a nice lazy start to the day, despite waking up at 5.30am as usual!

I also wake up really early, any time between 4.30-5.30. Not a problem when I'm working but on the nothing days....They can drag
Just ran 5k - I've set myself a challenge to run 5k in 25 minutes on 31 August, and I've set up a little Facebook group inviting friends to run it with me early on bank holiday. Today I did 29.38 and I'm exhausted so the challenge is shaving about 5 minutes off in 7 weeks! Let's see 😂
It really is my mental health lifeline, running, and this is three weeks injury free, the longest since about 2011. Seriously, I've got a long term arthritic condition and booze did NOT help it
Have a good one everyone

BE, Good luck on the 5K race. I used to run about 5 or more of those every spring with friends in the Northeast US. I think 25:00 minutes is definitely doable at your current pace. I would try and run some 4-5 miles prior because your race time will be naturally faster due to adrenaline. Try not to keep up with the rabbits at the start of the race or you’ll be grasping for air midway through until the end.
Suze, my wife’s cut looked pretty nasty and we had to ride back another 7 miles because we were on trails. She is sore all over from taking the fall. I haven’t ridden much since about 5 years ago when I was thrown over my handlebars when a car almost hit me and I went over a curb. Luckily I wasn’t injured much but my bike was pretty mangled. Now we stay mostly on trails away from motor vehicles, lol.
My son got a job in his field after graduating university in May and is getting his first apartment next month. We might have to help him a little but I’m glad he is really responsible and is on his own. It took me a few more years after college to do this.

I hope the night shift goes ok Billy x
I keep thinking of those 14 stitches Bilr, ouch!
It’s Tuesday morning here and I’m going to also work on being less reactive. I’m setting an intention to pause and take a slow deep breath in and out before I speak, and try to stay relaxed, keep my voice calm and continue to take slow deep breaths if I feel overwhelmed or upset.
