Class of August Part 1 2019
I'm back. Day 2.
Absolutely no alcohol in the house and my husband is gone with 2 of my boys until next Sunday. So he won't be bringing any beer home. Planning on having a good solid 8 days in by then. He seems pretty on board with quitting until I waffle, so changes and more talk needs to happen there.
I dunno. I'm tired, but trying. Time to learn some new tools and workout my sober muscles.

I wasn't going to impose myself on another class thread, but oops.
I guess it is hard to find the line between being supportive verses enabling.....and some people are just not good at the tough love bit.....I know I am. So right girl, you are going to do this, and we are with you every step of the way.
Going to read the posts now....

Day 1. Worse and worse and worse. When I used to read about how worse it gets I never quite believed it. Now I can feel it. Every day when I wake up I'm thinking f when I can start drinking, what to buy, when to buy it. How much to drink s as not to feel really bad. Even worse I'm physically craving it earlier and earlier in the day. It stops now.
Day 1. Thank you for your support.

(Not sure guys.....but thinking Dee might be a bit unwell right now.....I know he is recovering from bruised ribs.....whatever the case, I am sure he will be back ASAP. )
Just joined, although I am on Day 7. The journey has not been too bad up to today. Day 6 was a nightmare! Yesterday I was totally manic, anxious and thought I was having a mental breakdown. I am glad to have got my first weekend out of the way. Sleeping OK after a melatonin. Some serenity has returned today and a bit of equilibrium. I have not had any cravings (I am sure they will arrive soon enough), just the mental and physical re-adjustments that I suppose my body is making without the everpresent toxins in my system. I hope everyone else out there is getting through the day.
Welcome Patterson and Horsewhisperer!
I am so grateful I made it home without buying beer! Thank you Suze! It makes all the difference to have someone to vote "NO" to beer and alcohol along with you. My AV was screaming at me. All kinds of 'logical' things like, 'hey, it's only been a few days, what do you have to lose?' and 'tomorrow you can do a better job of following your plan, today is clearly a washout' Evil voice, I hate it.
I got chicken salad from the deli and am scarfing it even as I type. (between words). Also my favorite sugary 'juice coctail', I like the V8 kind. It's not really good for you, but compared to beer it's a super food.
So glad to see so many more posts. I have lots of reading to do, and that is a great help, too. Also, got to check out my July peeps.

I missed saying welcome to Pelagic. Are you feeling any better? Drink lots of fluids and go to urgent care if it starts getting too bad. Sending hugs and positive healing thoughts your way!
Also, great to see you Citrus!! We were in a class together before.
And Venus, you are the best. Thank heavens we have you my American friend!

Oh yeah, it takes another woman to point out how fattening it is....
It also helps to laugh a little, diffuses the intensity of the insanity of the AV.
So pleased you made it dear Karen!!! ♥
