Class of March 2013 Part 57
And our school has just closed.
I know, Toots, it's all very frustrating. I assume that things will be cleared up by the summer for your trip. My son's safety patrol trip to DC scheduled for next week was of course cancelled. There are a lot of disappointed 5th graders! Doesn't look like most of our money will be refunded as a portion of it was fund raised.

We may end up with long-term lifestyle changes. Covid-19 might not simply disappear. “The flu” and other contagious diseases used to be much worse, I gather but once we had vaccines it made a big difference. Meanwhile, this one is deadly serious and so we adapt by social distancing, testing, etc.
Life changes and I am thankful for the many people trying to deal with this pandemic thoughtfully and I am especially grateful that I am sober to deal with this.
*Hugs* to you all!

I got my 7 year Soberversary yesterday and didn't realise til half way though the day! Funny, Mr T had an empty glass by his side and I was getting a real craving for a drink, first time in an age. Then I remembered the date and thought 'no way Josie'! So glad I stopped when I did and so glad I'm dealing with this madness - and the personal disappointments it's causing - sober.
Congratulations Toots!!
Noooooooo in that drinking thinking! Celebrate with a treat instead! J and I had ice cream 7 year sobersundaes. 😂
I’m a little peeved that folks are hoarding bottled water and now that’s gone so they’re hoarding *MY* fizzy, but I’m not gonna drink over it.

Hi everyone -
March 2013 just happened to be at the top of the thread list when I signed on today, and I thought why not drop in for a quick hello.
Congrats everyone on your sober anniversaries!!!! Thrilled to see that your thread is still active, and happy to see quite a few familiar faces.
If you don’t know me, I’m from the Feb 13 list, now hanging out on the Overs thread.
Wehav - I haven’t crossed paths with you in a while. It’s lovely to see your post.
Hope everyone stays safe.

I think I know you from somewhere.....hmmm......it will come to me in a sec.
My sister just reminded me to be grateful for all of the good stuff.....and that we have all known each other for 7 years now is pretty darn good. So much love. xx s
Hello darling wehav. Love you very much. s xxxxx

Wehave, I wished I'd thought of that! Though we are eating out while we still can so plenty of indulgence going on!
I'm with you on the fizzy water though! I drink two litres a day and now can't buy more than 2 bottles at a time! Still, when we go into lockdown, it'll be good to have an excuse to go to the supermarket!
SE yup, we rattle along in the March 13 Class!

We, congrats!
Toots, I make my own fizzy water:-)
SE, hi there.
Every now and then I am reminded of how very fortunate we are to be sober for so many reasons. With our current situation of isolations, I imagine some are going through involuntary detox. So happy I stopped drinking a good while ago.
Stay safe, all.

Toots, one of the number of reasons I like to make my own fizzy water is that my stomach can’t take it full strength so now I just give it a very brief burst and it still tastes better than plain water :-)
Overall I am doing very well. Most of that is a result of living in a beautiful, friendly and well-run retirement community. It’s a difficult time for me because of coming out of remission of my autoimmune disease. However, because of our positive living situation, the effects are not nearly as bad as they could be. I confer by phone with the good specialist doc I see and he will be going to telehealth visits soon.
One of the many of positive aspects to living here now is that many of us are reaching out to others. I make and receive phone calls and send and receive email messages with other residents. Many of us share humorous stuff and also beautiful things (such as the Rotterdam Philharmonic YouTube video performing the finale of Beethoven’s 9th symphony with the players each in their own homes). Brought tears to my eyes.
When I can I walk outside - and by the ocean with one or two others - all 6 feet apart. Lots of laughing keeps our spirits up.
I feel very fortunate. Reaching out safely to friends doesn’t need a retirement community - we can all do it!
Take care, my friends

Doing ok here too - I spend most of my time working from home so not much different that way. Still walk the dogs and run every day so again not much different. Homeschooling starts next week so that will be one big change but all in all ok here.
