A Different Path Part 8
Really!?! Dee?
I have to look up that really big word so that I can understand your post…
😂
Have a great trip Kathy. As a nurse, we boo-hoo that type of medicine gathering in baggies or in all the same bottle.
But.... haha. I do it too! Especially if they are all different sizes and colors and shapes

I’m extremely meticulous and punctual with my medication! I know what each one looks like—and the three that look alike I left in their original containers!
Some are blue, some are pink, some are large, some are yellow, some are capsules.
Granted, I feel sorry for anyone else who would have to figure them all out!

Thanks you guys.
The big project was getting chili ready for the guests, most of whom will be arrested (LOL—autocorrected by my phone)—ahem, ARRIVING at 6.
My chili, which is very bland so my daughter with severe dietary restrictions can eat it, has just ground beef, tomatoes, pure organic Ancho chili powder with no additives, cumin, black pepper, salt, a bay leaf, and a teaspoon of sugar.
The longest part was frying the hamburger—everything else was mixed up in about 2 minutes. I didn’t bother to make much, because I doubt anyone but her and me will want it.
My husband’s chili, on the other hand, is the massive crowdpleaser. It’s got a ton of veggies in it, plus lots of ground beef and pork sausage.
There are so many ingredients in it that a single batch makes about two gallons.
He knows from much past experience that people have seconds and even thirds—so today he tripled the recipe! I guarantee that the entire six gallons will be scarfed within two hours!
I helped fry the six pounds of hamburger and three pounds of sausage, patiently breaking it all up and turning it, then I chopped bacon bits, celery, and red peppers.
Upon chopping the peppers I noticed that I had dragged the sleeve of my good dry-clean only sweater in it and got a red stain!
I had a cow!
I sprayed on some Spray and Wash and let it sit for five minutes—then, fortunately, it washed totally clean with cold water.
It will be fine.
You can dress me up, but you can’t take me out!
Anyway, leaning over the cutting board made my back ache, so I’m currently resting horizontally with my feet elevated.
I am so happy upstairs here surfing SR that I might as well be in Hawaii!
I just feel so physically and emotionally good right now!
For all the complaining and Eeyore fatalism I’ve had the last few days, it feels nice to have something good to report!
Thank you guys for sticking with me and encouraging me through thick and thin!

You better be careful Kathy, that chili sounds so good, you may get a few unwanted house guests....just kidding of course, we wouldn't crash your party, I love chili and they do both sound wonderful. Have a great time.
