Class of March 2016 part 73
Yeah I know Purps.....so hard to believe it was 17 years ago.
I can still see the towel I had wrapped around me after the shower....it was one my mum had given me when I moved out....an old teal colored towel. s

When it first happened I was at a temp agency, filling out paperwork in this room with one other girl....then an employee walked in and gave us clipboards to move us out where the news was on tv....she was like "You guys need to come out here and see this" ~ I felt pretty numb for a while....possibly from shock....still unbelievable
At one point I think it was Tom Brokaw, or another huge news anchor that morning who was like "Maybe someone can tell us what the hell is going on here" ~ It was like Oh, s**t, the news doesn't even have a clue...
They didn't....that was the scariest part. I also watched it happen....many Aussies did....we saw the second plane coming and were like screaming at the tv.....they didn't see it coming.
The thing is Purps honey....we are alive, and we get the opportunity to help make the world a better place, one that is filled with peace and love instead of hatred and violence. s

My kids were at school and there is a Defense Mapping Agency near their school. I almost went to get them. I was terrified that would be a target. That feeling in my stomach really was different that day.
Prayers for you and Nathan, Bobbie.
I was actually getting ready to take off from SFO on 9/11 - we were literally about 1 or 2 seconds into our acceleration and the pilot shut the engines down and hit the brakes hard. Spent 3 days on the opposite coast waiting for the air travel system to reboot. I was pretty happy to get home.
Plugging along here - not so great days, but faking it till I make it

The hospital where my burns unit is- has a Centre for Creative Health....where art for inpatients is encouraged and has a very visible, very new (well duh! the hospital has only been open a year) exhibition space..in the main people route..I sent them an email- briefly sharing my story and asking if they had a networking/interest group type thing. The Artist who runs it is meeting me next week to look at me exhibiting there.....the circle of life...
excuse me- I have to go outside and look up into the heavens whilst appearing to be very profound and philisophomical.

That's awesome, PHX.
Good morning, People!
I am taking Nathan to rehab tomorrow morning. Hoping for longer lasting sobriety for him. He seems to make it 6 months then when crap hits him he can't cope.
Thanks for all the support here.
How are you doing, Lillian? I woke up thinking about you.
Have a great day, my favorite people!

He's worried about all of his responsibilities. Parole office check in, court. We have some bases to cover right now, but he does think he needs this.
Hope you're having a great day, Suze! Enjoy this weather.

I'm glad Nathan has some great support in his corner - and that he treasures his recovery so much B.
Hope everyones doing ok -I'm sorry for all those affected by 9/11 even at this remove - the greatest thing for me is that terrorism did not win.
Life - beautiful normal life - goes on.
At the risk of being trite - we have a ongoing fight against relentless and implacable enemy right here.
Fight the good fight guys - every desire to drink is another skirmish.
