Congrats on 11 years, Dee. Thanks for all you do for us!

Work is done. Off until Sunday. Time to celebrate the day and hug a burrito.

Missy...I think that YOU thinking about stuff is good. The more understanding we have of stuff...the better our decisions )proactive) will be.

As wise man on previous page says- if it works....

I agree with you about it being about people. If there is anything akin to a HP...then it is, for me- drawing strength from people.
Just as some HAVE to define their addiction in words they can make it easier to cope with...it is not the alcohol- but the 'ism' in me (some say), an allergy, a disease, I was sick, a syndrome, I am intolerant....
who the hell cares what it is called?

ALSO- yes, I agree with you..there are cultish stuff people do at meetings. I guess there is just so much negative stuff associated with cults.
I admire your prison stuff, B. Too often do I see people with 'convenient' morality...such as the nice Christians who have nice lives- but if challenged with people they know who are homeless, or ill- or even worse (god forbid) an 'alcoholic' ....turn a blind eye as it rocks their nice lives.
Convenient christianity.
You are not one of them. You show great strength and conviction at the mo, especially given the personal tragedy you deal with...kudos to you.

Congrats on 11 Years Dee. That is inspiring!!

Bobbie, I’m very excited for you and hope the experience is awesome. You will be great.

Not as productive today as I hoped - too many interruptions. Probably try and get some things done tonight so that my Friday is not too stressful.

Have a good night and see you in the a.m.

I'm glad you are feeling that now.

I am hoping that in sobriety I will not get as wrapped up in work and perhaps will be able to participate more fully in my life.
Yes!!! Exactly. Every word. June will be awful and I’d really like to not be cranky. Will put some thought and intent into change.

Now Bobbie, that independently wealthy idea is A~1. Let’s do it! I do wish you the best at your new volunteer work. Doing something meaningful is even better.

LEGO land on spring break is an adventure! Those LEGO cities are amazing. How fun it must have been to build them! A friend just returned from knots berry farm tonight. She said it was so crowded. She needed medication when she got home (said it jokingly).

Dee, congratulations! Inspiring.

Today I watched my new dishwasher be installed by some real idiots. Kind of comical to watch. Like a circus. Hope it works.

Time to curl up and watch a movie. Over and out.

Good morning guys. Up a little early here and still waiting for the startin fluid to finish brewing.

I’ve been sleeping a little better, which is always good. Looking forward to the weekend, but Monday I’m back on the plane - out of town all week and plan on traveling AF.

PJ, saw your other post with the link to your art. Very cool. Thank you.

Have a great day everyone!!

Good morning Marchers.

I'm off today and tomorrow. Need to stick close. I promise I won't drink. Even if I want to.

Wake up Bobbie!

Hey guys!

It's Friday. I have an unbelievably busy weekend ahead. 2 yo nephew's bday party, next day is his sister's Christening and my dad's 75th bday party. My sister is getting to my house tonight and we will stay up late and talk or watch some girl movie. I really love my sister time. When I was really struggling and she came to town, she just climbed in bed with me and we watched lifetime movies and it was perfect. I'm really lucky to have her.

I'm trying to make myself take a social media break. Not sure if that means here or not. If you don't see me, I'll be back.

Have the most awesome day!!

Thought for the Day

All alcoholics have personality problems. They drink to escape from life, to counter act feelings of loneliness or inferiority, or because of some emotional conflict within them, so that they cannot adjust themselves to life. Alcoholics cannot stop drinking unless they find a way to solve their personality problems. That's why going on the wagon doesn't solve anything. That's why taking the pledge usually doesn't work. Was my personality problem ever solved by going on the wagon or taking the pledge?

Meditation for the Day

God irradiates your life with the warmth of His spirit. You must open up like a flower to this divine irradiation. Loosen your hold on earth, its cares, and its worries. Unclasp your hold on material things, relax your grip, and the tide of peace and serenity will flow in. Relinquish every material thing and receive it back again from God. Do not hold on to earth's treasures so firmly that your hands are too occupied to clasp God's hands as He holds them out to you in love.

Prayer for the Day

I pray that I may be open to receive God's blessing. I pray that I may be willing to relinquish my hold on material things and receive them back from God.

Happy Friday Everyone.

And congratulations Dee !!!

I'm sure like countless others here, I am almost certainly sober today because of you. And one day I hope to be as serene and wise as you too.

I've been working like a dog day and night to get a some creative writing out for a new client. It is an activity at the edge of what I profess to do in business, and has had be struggling with self-doubt and imposter syndrome the entire week.

I've just hit 'send' on the email to my client so now it is in the hands of the universe - she will either love it - or respond grumpily.

I'm preparing myself for my reaction to either response. I know it is good and pretty close to the best I can do.

"What other people people think of me is none of my business"

2 years and 10 months sober for me today, for what it is worth. Or 34 months.

But actually just today - which is how I am finally learning to understand matters.

Go well everyone.

Fradley

Congrats on 34 months, Fradley! That's amazing.

Hug a Caramel (popcorn)!

Glad to start the day off with a win. Hope to keep that winning streak going all day. Time to don trousers and get out of the house for a bit.
