Thought for the Day
When I was drinking, I was absolutely selfish, I thought of myself first, last, and always. The universe revolved around me at the center. When I woke up in the morning with a hangover, my only thought was how terrible I felt and about what I could do to make myself feel better. And the only thing I could think of was more liquor. To quit was impossible. I couldn't see beyond myself and my own need for another drink. Can I now look out and beyond my own selfishness?
Meditation for the Day
Remember that the first quality of greatness is service. In a way, God is the greatest servant of all, because He is always waiting for us to call on Him to help us in all good endeavor. His strength is always available to us, but we must ask it of Him through our own free will. It is a free gift, but we must sincerely seek for it. A life of service is the finest life we can live. We are here on earth to serve others. That is the beginning and the end of our real worth.
Prayer for the Day
I pray that I may cooperate with God in all good things. I pray that I may serve God and others and so lead a useful and happy life.

Good morning Marchers.
Woke up way too early and got a lot of stuff done and now I don't wanna go to work. Of course, I'd also not wanna go to work if I'd woke up late.
I'm in for a sober Tuesday/Australian Saturday night.

Oh yeah, just remembered--it was 19 years ago today that I took my very first drink of alcohol. I always remember the date because it was the day before my then-girlfriend's birthday.
This April 3 is a good day to be sober.

Hey there!
I've been up for a while, but had lots of stuff to do before I could post. Slept just so-so, but feeling pretty good in general. My low-level anxiety seems to have passed - focusing on today.
It's Masters week, which is probably my favorite week of the year.
I've been reading a lot of the other threads on SR the last few weeks, and I definitely continue to learn more about my addiction, my home situation and ways of coping.
Venus, sorry you are not in a good mood. I hope it improves, but in the meantime you're entitled to a little crankiness - we all are.

MITA - Masters Week is a big deal in my house too. Happy Masters Week!
Casey - hope work is going well.
I left the office for a bunch of office like errands. Also on the home stretch of all the testing so I can start at the women's prison. The state is slow. That is all.

I know I'm only an honorary member of the class now, but I would like to chime in to let you know I am doing well. I'm attending AA like a maniac and have 40 days.
I do not feel any kind of security, but I'm definitely stronger than usual in my sobriety.
I have found a good group and am working it pretty hard.
I hope you are well and as the days go by I will try to catch up with you guys!
