Class of March 2013 Part 52
Duff, if it helps, my last divorce took...4 years.
Papers were dutifully filed and she ignored them. "Fine", I said.
Then I left the state. And left word that I had moved to Jupiter. Jupiter, Florida. I was really in Kentucky.
She had a good meltdown. Married to a guy she couldn't even locate. With divorce papers in hand. A few years later, I let her know she could have a divorce now. Those papers got signed in a hurry.

Wow! North! Really, really great to see you mate. I'm glad all is well with you, it would be lovely to get a longer catch up though!
I just got my then hubby drunk enough to sign. I'm sure there is a legal issue there but wtf, I needed rid of him! He has now made a rather more permanent exit from planet earth, so no worries of any come back!

Great to see you, North and happy to hear all is well!
Duff, your comments bring back memories of my divorce. It was 1 1/2 years from kicking him out to court hearing. That was so painful! At times it felt like it would never be over. My divorce was final 35 years ago this March (St. Paddy’s Day). Although I remember how painful the whole thing was, I have never once regretted it! I realize that’s cold comfort to you now but I hope that helps a teeny bit.
Babs, good to hear that you don’t have a desire to drink now. It may or may not come back now and then. If it does, it probably won’t be nearly as strong.
Trachy, you are too funny
Hi Gilmer and Toots and Dee!

Hi Gilmer and Toots and Dee!
Hi there North great to hear from you.
All is well here and it sounds like a few of us have gone through the big D.
I survived mine just fine. We even had the same lawyer. Like I have said to my husband now who was married before also. You would think we would have learned the first time around. Ha ha ha ha
Things are getting a little better around here. BIL is now home and my house is quiet at the moment. Hope everyone is doing ok. Getting over all this flu stuff and etc. that is going around.
Hugs

Hi All,
Work is still crazy here, no sign of letting up anytime soon, so I guess I'll just keep padding the retirement account.
Tracy's sister got arrested for her 3rd or 4th DUI last Friday, Tracy just found out about it yesterday. Everyone is sure she will claim innocence as she has been in rehab numerous times and is constantly claiming to be sober even when it's obvious she isn't.
I guess the family has had enough and decided not to bail her out this time. I've even chatted with her about it and recommended checking us out here, she kept saying she would get to it when she had time, ( She cant keep a job more than a month).
If I hear from her I will recommend here again.
Hope everyone is well and warm!

IT must be heartbreaking to see from the outside someone we love who has a drink problem who doesn't accept it. For me with my first hubby, I think we were already too far down the path of falling out of love before I realised how deep his issues were. So for me it was more frustrating , and made me angry at what he was willing to give up on.
Hey ho, at the end of the day it was his loss.
Budd, look after yourself, no one can work such long hours indefinitely without something giving. X

hi guys !
yes, Budd you do need to be around to enjoy that nest egg. It's funny how a person looks at things differently. I just wish we all had a magical ball that would make things right,
We have each other and that's a very satisfying thought for me.

Yeah, I'm wishing for a magical ball about now.
Remember the GM from my former job in Atlanta? The one that was diagnosed with ALS? He moved back to Canada to be near family. He's lost the use of his right arm. Today, he tells me he's lost speech. "I can still eat", he says.
He's still got a sense of humor. Or is that humour in Canada?
