I'm actually starting day 3 (again) today!!!
I love the feeling of going to bed and knowing I am going to wake up without a hangover!
I love waking up in the morning and feeling proud that I didn't drink!
I am going to do this, this time. It feels different. I feel different. I've accepted that I have a problem and I am finally doing something about it!
I will use this thread often, to help me stay on track and hopefully support others!!
Happy New Year everyone!!! Here's to 2018... sober 😊😊

Thanks D! I have that post-booze insomnia at the moment. But I am sober, and feeling good, if a little tired!
I've dealt with some demons (ones which really drove me to drink) these last few days and I am so thankful for these forums.

Happy New Year, and welcome to all who are joining the January 2018 class. If you are new to SR welcome, this site helped me get and stay sober. If you are starting again, welcome back, make 2018 your best year yet by giving yourself the gift of sobriety.
On 1-1-16 I joined the January of 2016 class, and met an amazing group of people. We have become friends through this site, and we have supported each other through the good times and the bad. When the clock strikes midnight in California I will have two years sober, and SR has been the biggest part of my recovery plan.
Read lots, post lots, check in with your class, and take some time to create a recovery plan. I am looking forward to seeing all of you on SR!
You can do this, cheers to a sober 2018!!!!
❤️Delilah

I don't expect this journey to be plain sailing. But I'm feeling so positive right now, even if it is 4:30am and I can't sleep. I've spent weeks questioning myself and now, the recognition and admission that I do have a problem has been liberating! I can start to get my life back. The life I want... And deserve.

No illusions
Hi - I have given up for 3-4 months a few times over the last few years but never made it stick. This year I will be 50 y.o.
I have no illusions now about how hard this is going to be but I have decided to do it. I want this. Day 1 today. I plan to post regularly here. For me this simply has to happen. I am going to stay sober

You can do this! I’m on day 25 (member of the December class). If I can do it, YOU can do it! First sober New Year’s Eve in years and feels great. Needed to change up a bunch of things that trigger me to drink including where I go and with whom....obviously. It hasn’t been a walk in the park but with every day I get stronger and it gets easier. First week was the worst!!! But if you can get through that, you’ve done great. And reading everyone else’s posts has been extremely helpful. Just wanted to say good luck and that really...believe me....YOU CAN DO THIS!
Hi, all. I was in a previous class and am back.

Look forward to moving onward and embracing sobriety, as opposed to fighting it. Day 3 here. NY day feels good with hot coffee and a clear head.
