Thanks Dee!

Absolutely raining cats and dogs here. I wonder how that expression originated?

Have a great Monday everyone!

You got me thinks there, Star.
So me being a bit inquisitive had to look and here's one of the reasons for the saying.

The most common one says that in olden times, homes had thatched roofs in which domestic animals such as cats and dogs would like to hide. In heavy rain, the animals would either be washed out of the thatch, or rapidly abandon it for better shelter, so it would seem to be raining cats and dogs.

Thanks, Dee

Mags, love it - now I have a permanent image to call up whenever anyone says "raining cats and dogs"

Toots - yes, seriously 😈 I guess that dates me!

Midwest, they have amazing food here - a lot of people who have eaten here have told us they can't believe it. Think of nearly gourmet dining every day, fresh locally sourced food whenever possible plus a very varied menu to choose from. Unfortunately, desserts to die for 😢

PJ, in order to mostly banish my demons, I had to do a great deal of work. I finally felt at peace a few years ago. It still seems incredible that for so many years I struggled so hard. I do believe that sooner or later we all have the potential to at least manage our demons and enjoy our lives. I believe that you will get there

Hi SG, alternator-less FBL, Andy and everyone!

Sassy, the food there sounds wonderful! And desserts! Oh my giddy aunt! You certainly have chosen wisely. X

Good afternoon Overs.

Mrs Terrific is back after her chemo. There is a smell in the chemo suite that with Mrs T's hyper sense of smell makes her nauseous. She has just downed three Wheatbix.

Have a good afternoon everyone.

Midwest, sadly for my expanding waistline, early on I decided that I would try each new dessert once ... definitely my downfall!

Saskia- lately desserts and sweets have been my downfall too! I have been eating a little to much! I have lost 43 lbs total since I quit drinking. I would have to try everything once. I think that is a good compromise.

Andy- I hope Mrs. T is feeling better!

Dee, have a great, well-deserved SR break!

They finally were able to move Fran out of the ICU yesterday. She needs better rest to give her body a chance to heal. A very long road of recovery ahead for sure.

Have a Terrific and/or Tolerable Tuesday, overs!

Dee, enjoy your break

Sending thoughts and prayers to Mrs Terrific and anyone else who needs them.

SG, isn't it great that when one of us has a question, most of the time another Over has either The Answer or An Answer!

Hi to all

SG- in reference to how the expression' it is raining cats and dogs' came into being...I have thought long and hard on this conundrum. The answer, my friend can be found in that most reliable of documentaries - 'Sharknado'.
