Class of April 2016 Support Thread Part 3
Ducrider- I am glad you are having a good day. I tend to fall backwards after the thirty day mark too. Also thinking I am magically fixed and I can drink like normal people. Ugh. Slowly though I think I am accepting I can't ever pick up one drink.
Feel the same Winslow. Sending you positive vibes today.
Day one. I'm taking it hour by hour. My av started chattering first thing when I woke up and the mental bargaining hasn't stopped since. I'm ready to go back to bed already. And it's only quarter to 9.
Wooooooooo here's to a looooong day ahead...
Wooooooooo here's to a looooong day ahead...
So far I feel fine. It's the nights I'm concerned about without sleep aids. At least now no one is here to watch me jump, jive and wail if that business starts up.
I seriously hate the person I am when I drink. I am such a sneak and a liar. Yeah that's right av I'm talking to YOU. Bug off.

Day 14 and it hasn't been easy for me. I gave in to bingeing on sugar, white bread and cakes instead of alcohol these past 4 days. I hate sugar. I've never felt so cr**, nearly as bad as on alcohol. Can't sleep at night, can't stay awake in the day, skin is awful. ..
Got so bad I started asking myself why I don't just drink instead (yes, I feel nearly hungover, and I've wasted 4 days just eating and watching TV, same as if I was drunk), but as ill as I've been on sugar (I ate so much chocolate yesterday I threw up) at least I can remember everything, my self-esteem is nearly intact (I'm angry with myself for making myself ill, but haven't peed myself or nearly choked on my own vomit) and I'm getting stronger by the day.
So I'll try to shove a few salads back in to my diet, but I'm so glad to be off the booze. It's definitely worth it. It's gradually taking me longer and longer to get over a booze binge, plus I'm losing my appetite when I drink. Just a slippery slope that's getting shorter for me every binge I take, I fear.
Big hugs,

Keep your head up. This thing isn't easy, but with the support of others, we can build up the strength to power through!

Just checking in with everyone. On day 2 here. Woke up pretty early and had trouble getting back to sleep, but that is ok. I would much rather be tired than hungover and dragging myself through another day of misery. Feeling positive today Hope everyone else is doing well.

The first days are hard... But you know you can do this.
Just gotta do the time. I had a glass of water with me all day. At least I was "drinking" something!

Yeah its kind of hard to find my momentum again after this long relapse. I had almost 7 weeks in which is my longest since 2012. Too many day ones and detoxes. Lamesauce.
Trying to find some oomph but not really getting there quite yet. Gonna go for "today is the day" and see what I does.
Good evening (in the UK anyway)
Wow , what strange weather. Up here in Lincolnshire we've got rain but just seen pictures of snow in London!!
I've done nothing today but vegetate - at least that's not drinking!!
I hope everyone has had a good day xx

Hi all, Can I join you? Day one for me. again. I had about 2 months under my belt (with 2 relapses during that time - so not really 2 months.). I can go a day, a week, a month. It just seems it's never if I will drink. It's when. I am thankful to join this thread and have some accountability with people who understand.
