One Year & Over Part 35
I had a productive day yesterday. Replaced my driver's license and health card after losing my wallet over a month ago (I procrastinate these things), renewed my auto insurance for another year with added roadside coverage, went to my mental health counselor, and applied for a really cool internship in Vancouver.
I have the interview for the paper on the coast on Wednesday (I can't believe how long this is all taking), and I still have to hear back about that other editor position I interviewed for. I want to move on to the next phase of my life. Things are starting to get to me here and I want a clean slate.
MB that's so great about the short story! Sure if you want to encourage each other PM me!
It has been warm and gorgeous here. Just beautiful. But I've been assured that March could still be bad. I'm doubtful, though.

Hi, all)
Quick check. I tolerated Tuesday) The weather is uber miserable - grey sky and melting snow which makes all the ground look like mud.
Off to boxing. See you later.

Being a p/t & kinda-f/t Trailer Dude, I've been following your Posts in case I could help with any frozen Pipes and all. Turns out, not so much...
Meanwhile, you made the very salient observation ~1 Week ago about Folks having to travel to get decent Work; right outta some Grapes Of Wrath Scenario.
During a Month down in the Arizona/Nevada Desert in our new Trailer, I hit the 'Route 66 Museum' recently in lovely Kingman Arizona. An engrossing Exhibition dealt with Depression Era Migration. Reportedly 8% of those who traveled to California for Work stayed there. After a few Months, the rest returned to the Midwest, and 'Dust Bowl' conditions.
After some jockeying to get a glare-free Pic, I captured this Image of California Worker Housing. It is worth studying, IMO, for all that it reveals.

Mesaman it must have been awful during that era for those poor families, I was reading something the other day about how easily it could happen again with just the slightest increase in average temperatures.
Thanks for the thoughts, just fed up of being tired and poorly, I am not a patient patient.
IP try not to get frustrated, things happen in their own time regardless of how quickly you want them to, practise patience. ( said the grumpy impatient woman!)
FG hugs sweetie. All you can be is the best version of you that you can be. Don't let anyone make you feel that isn't enough.
FBL, dead or alive??
Hugs all

MesaMan, well my pipes have frozen a couple times actually, but you could have also helped with failing/blocked septic, backing up shower, malfunctioning wood stove, fuse box on the fritz, overpowered furnace, leaking propane, and moths.
It has been an adventure.
Oh that photo is so sad, it reminds me of this Guardian article I saw: Gimme Shelter: hard lives in British cities 1969-72 | UK news | The Guardian
Such an eye opener to someone like me whining about too many choices in Canada. Wah.
I got a job offer, yay! It's an editor position at a very small paper in a VERY beautiful location. It doesn't pay too well but cost of living will be low.
But I also have a couple other interviews for reporter positions coming up at more mid-sized papers, but I'll be reporting which is fine but my goal is to be an editor. ...... CHOICES.
I negotiate my severance package with my ex-boss tomorrow. Should be super fun.
Patience, I know, ARGH. And I know I'll look back at this time in a month or two and think "why didn't I enjoy that nice downtime more?" Such is human nature.

Morning overs.
Inpar, good luck with the interviews and the severance pay! Please enjoy your time off, you'll be working like a beaver in no time at all!
Hi midnight.
Hope you're feeling a bit better, toots.
It's wet but not freezing so far this morning at 6.11 am! Wednesday, I seem to have to think nowadays what day it is, haha. Am I getting old? Absolutely! It's and achievement to get to this age and still be alive!
Gosh I was dreaming a lot last night but all jumbled up and unexplanatory, if there is such a word, but I suppose my brains gotta compute all the rubbish I take in through the day somehow.hehe.
Right, gonna get a coffee and get ready for work. See ya later.
