Oh god, I'm sorry. I joke like that with my friends as a way of telling them how much I like them. Bit backwards in coming forwards :-(
It's not for a couple of weeks yet. If he gets really plastered it's going to be a real drag.....

We can give you ideas for thread names but you're a writer. Best if you choose one yourself. And Dee is a sweetie. He will be fine with whatever you choose to do regarding a new thread. Maybe he can even recategorize this one in the newcomers forum per your request. When you get to part 3, then maybe you'll feel you have enough air under your wings to make the transition off the newbies section.

Frank I sent you an PM several days before part one of this thread hit 500 posts. You didn't reply.
The reason we move threads to this forum after they hit 500 posts is we used to be glutted in the main forum by personal and monthly threads.
I'm not saying your needs aren't as great as anyone else's, but brand new newcomers to this forum were being missed under the old system.
I don't think you're getting less support at all. You still have your regular posters here, and you're free to post in your monthly thread or the under one year thread as much as you like.
Personally I think you should stay here - it's an opportunity for growth and a chance to focus more on your recovery and what you're going to do about it.
but like I said in my PM, I can't stop you from starting another, new, thread in Newcomers.

Yup, I know Wolf. But here's the thing . . . my thread on Newcomers got 12k views and dozens of newcomer SR folks who posted some great advice and support. That helped me. And I hope that, in some way, it may have helped those who read/posted, too. This thread is pretty segmented and targeted mostly toward 'classes'. (and not to put too fine a point on it, the 'newcomers' class threads in this forum look to back as far as eight years. Hey! I'm a real newcomer, just into my 2nd week.)
This forum just doesn't get the traffic for exposure to my situation, my struggles, my successes and (frequent) failures, or my bad jokes. Readers/posters are going to be mostly those who subscribed to my first thread .
Or . . . maybe I'm just a needy alcoholic attention wh*re.

Yes, that's true. I'm feeling pretty strong about it. I love him to bits. It's awful seeing people you love in the grip of this thing.
I think start a new thread. In what way are you feeling shaky? No need to respond to that if you don't want to expound.

I'm really having a tough time tonight, but not drinking, nor will I. Whine whine whine, I hate that.
I think blessed, definitely. I imagine it must be a bit isolating though, having a mind like that. I wonder if that's why many writers and great artists turn to drink. Any insights from that book you've been reading?

This is a book that anyone interested in writing should read. If you are an alcoholic not interested in writing you should read it, too.
Oh, I'm so sorry to hear that :-( What to say? Maybe that's the agony writers' face...they get so much closer to being able to convey what we feel, yet can it ever be fully expressed? Was it John Cleese that said "It's the hope....." ?
I'm so glad she has a loving son like you.
