Branding?

"Don't Talk About Bacon" is good. "Here we go, Frank" is better.

Sounds like you're enjoying it, which is cool. I'm also interested and your recommendation is welcomed. You mentioned never having heard about Berryman before. I hadn't either until recently when there was an article about him in the local news.

Ah, the proper use of an apostrophe. You're a good man, Frank Lapidus!

Please allow me to pimp once again your recommendation: 'The Trip to Echo Spring: On Writers and Drinking', by Olivia Lang.

Aspiring writers should read this. Drunks who have no interest in writing should read this, too.

Found you!

The Saoutchik family crest should read "Behind the Curve" probably in Latin though

Glad you are still doing well Frank.

I'm sure Dee won't mind a new thread, most people who post them tend to post more than 1

I have just started reading All the Tea in China by Kyril Bonfiglioli

"a swaggering, rip-snorting, buckler-swashing tale about one of the men who - for a reasonable fee - made Britain great" Says the blurb

Kyril Bonfiglioli died an alcoholic aged 56. I am 55 so I feel some affinity

Booze or drugs only work for a short while

Hello all, and thanks to Cissy, Shabby, Nest, Saoutchik, Boozer, and Olivia for checkin' out the thread.

Thanks in large part to an earlier discussion here I have abandoned my anti anti-depressant position. Starting today I am taking DULoxetine (generic Cymbalta). 20 mg once a day for two weeks, then twice a day for the following two weeks. I think this is a fairly low dosage, 'spose to take 4-8 weeks to see results. There sure are a lot of different flavors of anti-depressants!

Fingers crossed.

Hey, that's great news. It took me a good 7 weeks to feel the benefits, and it (prozac) definitely made me more anxious for the first few weeks. Well worth it though - I was in a bad way emotionally. Good for you, Frank :-)

Well, as threatened previously, I'm trying to get out and around on SR more. Many of you have probably already seen this, but for those who haven't you really need to read Cow's threads. Her most recent is "Diary of a Mad Cow, Part XII, Rubik's Moo" (Yes, Part XII! I'm reading the first 11)

http://www.soberrecovery.com/forums/...ubiks-moo.html

For her first thread, going back to 2013 . . . http://www.soberrecovery.com/forums/...y-mad-cow.html

Folks, this is an absolutely stunning collection of writings. Sheer genius. And it p*sses me off that she's funnier than I am.
