The big shrimp boil gathering is going on. We didn't host in our unit thank goodness. It's unusual that some folks are there I don't know, and I took some pretty direct questioning on why I wasn't drinking. The two that questioned me the most both said they drank too much (was pretty clear tonight). Had a nice time, but when one of those guys (about my age I think) started doing 'the worm' dance move I decided to slip away and call it an evening. Interesting to me that I wasn't tempted....I thought of Briar and related to the feeling of freedom she mentioned earlier.

I hope your little one is feeling better Briar.

Is it more oral surgery?

Only allowed five emoticons per post....so this is a continuation.

Dee ~ thank you. So very much.
And how is your torn muscle doing?
And how was your gig?

Love to everyone else...Chick, and BD, and Ironwoman and Leigh of course. ♥♥♥

I worked again today. An extra shift my boss asked me to cover. I am an idiot; I said yes, because I need the money and I want a good reference. But it was almost four hours of very steep hills. I covered a lot of ground. No idea how many kms I walked today. I struggled. My foot was killing me. I spent a lot of time saying the serenity prayer. And I made it. Thank you God.

It's fine now V. 80% back to normal.
I still tend to heal really quickly which is great.

The gig was good too

Thanks for explaining why I can't see any of your pictures, FAD. Feel better all who are ailing.

You know how sometimes you feel like a mouse on a wheel and it's spinning and spinning? Last night I jumped off, blew off the gym after work and just came home to finish the last of the products for Saturday, then chilled with the TV. . Laundry still is not done and 5 day forecast says 50% chance of thunderstorms for my outdoor event. Worrying won't change it.

Good morning folks.

Thinking of you Conquest. Hope it goes well.

I am also very proud of you, FAD! Taking notes for my next vacation. . The worm, eh? Bet he felt pretty crappy the next day. Always a good thing to remember.

Oh, V, your poor foot. Hugs.

Hope your little girl turns the corner today. Briar.

Nice to hear from you, BD. good for you for resting!

Getting closer Arbor! Prayers for a healthy baby and delivery!

Glad you are feeling better, Dee.

How are you , Ironwoman and Chick Chick?

I am tired! I had a horrible time falling asleep last night. Oh well. Supposed to be a stormy day, so they rescheduled an outside school event . I would have worked at that for a bit, so that frees me up to do things at home, maybe grab a nap.

Thinking of getting back into green smoothies. Bought a some greens and fruits to get started. I have been lazy wrt nutrition and exercise. Need to get back to better overall habits.

And without a doubt phoebe love, the better nutrition will fix things.
I know I don't feel good when I am not eating right.

Looking forward to a good long snooze with my gorgeous fat cat tonight...it's cold, but she is the best hot water bottle in the world.

Thinking about your day Conquest.

Wishing good weather for you BD.

I hope that little one turns the corner soon Briar.....not a fun gig.

V, my goodness you push yourself, but I can relate to that. I'm hoping it'll pay off for you and not make your foot worse.

When's the last day of school for y'all phoebe? It's gotta be soon. I talked to some folks from Boston and another guy from CT last night. The Boston guy didn't have the typical Kennedy type sound, but sure didn't sound like me either. I enjoy meeting people from other places.

A little beach time this morning and I'll leave early this afternoon and the others will stay the rest of the week I think. And you're right V, this trip was a milestone for me. Posting and sharing the experience with you guys has helped me be mindful of my goal. It'll be nice to make the drive home feeling good and clear of conscience.

Just seeing your post phoebe, I have never had a green smoothie. May give those a shot. I think that a few days of doing nothing much has actually been good for me. I have trouble with my left shoulder...I think the term is impingement, but it seems a little better.

Good to hear that you're a fast healer Dee....I've never torn a muscle. Doesn't have a nice sound to it though.

Funny you chose that word from: "milestone".
I had posted that, and then lost my post.
I was thinking that this was an even bigger milestone than the months we are counting off. What a fantastic achievement for you.

And yes, I push myself. Because you all inspire me to. Every single day.

Haven't heard that term "impingement" before from....I looked it up.
It sounds painful.
I have left shoulder issues as well, no idea what, never had it checked out.
I know it is not nearly so bad now that I no longer clean houses.

Sidenote: Green smoothies may be awesome and all, but I am not giving up my morning coffee for them.

Well I'm having coffee now and quite enjoy it.

This specific yearly trip is a powerful trigger and it no longer has power over me....take that AV!!! So I really don't have any more big 'firsts' to go through as far as drinking is concerned. Feels nice.

So off to fill up my tank before it get so busy, then a little beachy morning time to wrap it all up. Rest well V

Drive carefully, FAD. You know I understand how big it was that you maintained your sobriety on this vacation, after my flop on mine. Well done, once more! Never too much praise for a job well done!

Our kids get out in a bit over two weeks. Our snow days pushed us out an extra week. Just sending out the emails for end of year events for the class. Room parent here.

I am sure I talk differently from many of you here, as we all do from one another. We have quite the mixed group, from different countries and different parts within those. I do not have a heavy Boston accent, and the typical Boston accent sounds nothing like the way that the Kennedy family speaks, lol. Think more like Ben Affleck and Matt Damon in Good Will Hunting. They are Cambridge boys, I believe. But, I have lost my accent over the years. I say most of my r's. My brother has a pretty heavy accent. Even I have to think about what he says for a moment, once in awhile, lol.

The green smoothies will most certainly NOT replace my morning coffee, even though that is only decaf! Will try one for lunch today. Going to google some combinations to see what fits the ingredients I have on hand. There is some finesse needed to have something palatable vs pond scum in a fancy glass!

No more panicking because Oops I'm drunk and have to pretend I'm not.
No more hangovers.
No more shame.

I dreamt about you Arbor. The baby was coming. I guess it won't be long now.

I think I should drink my coffee and come back. I can't seem to wake up.
My foot hurt all night. Kept waking me up.

Cheers, my friends. No alcohol, just lots of fruits and veggies! Tastiest one I have ever made. I used more fruit than usual. Sometimes I tolerate it more than enjoy it.
