Class of March 2013 part 37
Good morning Marchers Is it 65C everywhere? That's about what it is here at almost 11 on Monday morning! Actually it's very welcome after the heat and humidity we've had but, being the wimp I am, I have gone from shorts to jeans, runners and a thin wool cardigan.
V --- congratulations on 90 days! That you have achieved these 90 days while undergoing an operation and subsequent pain says a lot about the quality of your sobriety.
Toots and others who asked: Mr Marcher has experienced some light relief from the arthritis pain in his hands, we are hoping for more when a week or so of this patch kicks in. As for my friend: she is doing OK, she is making plans for her art classes (that she teaches) this year but it's going to be a matter of slowly putting one foot in front of the other.
I shall have a nice relaxing afternoon of tennis watching and knitting while all the doors and windows are wide open to let this lovely cool air flow through the house.
Have a good Australia Day peeps.

Happy cool Australia Day to you wonderful Aussies, too!
I was. I hadn't been to Mass in a long time. I've been going to a protestant church for the last twelve years. The sermon sort of hit me where I lived in my most vulnerable area. I could really use a good, roto-rooter confession so I could start clean..

Duff, I think 1Day gave you awesome advice.
You are doing great by the way!
As are you Sass; you sound so calm now.
Thank you Marcher love, your words mean a great deal to me.
I am sending good thoughts for Mr Marcher as well as your friend.
And thank you for reminding me about the tennis...I have it on now.
I love Victoria Azarenka, but lordy, why do these girls have to scream like that??? My.
Gilmer...hmmm, confession. Sounds appealing to me as well. Wonder if a Jewish woman can go see a priest?
Love to everyone. ♥
Great, I mention copper infused solutions to peoples' problems and we're all about Budd's feet now.
Just pee'd myself a little laughing.
Is it silly night or are we into full-fledged silly season now?

Yes, I am supposed to have a toe joint replacement, but due to time I can't take off from work yet. I have had to postpone it as I'll need a month off. Fortunately since I've stopped bowling I'm not doing any more damage. And I've had no gout episodes since I stopped drinking. So right now both feet are relatively happy!
Belated Happy Australia Day to my Down Under Dudes from the Whinging Pom!
I am beginning to feel brighter it is getting appreciably lighter longer here now, mornings start earlier, evenings start later.
I got up early today for a run and am now back in bed dosing up on caffeine and spending some last few precious moments in the company of hubby before he heads off for another week away.
Gilmer, do you need to speak to a priest to confess? Sure.y he is only the middle man anyway. I'm sure you could talk direct to the big guy I feel you have a pretty healthy relationship with him. I'm also pretty sure he is aware of your human shortcomings and as you have already confessed in your soul, he has already forgiven.
I am so glad your dad was comforted.
Sass I will be thinking of you over the next couple of days sweetie
Hugs all I hope your week has begun as well as mine

Hi, Toots. No, it's not that I need a middleman. Somehow it is just really cathartic to confide my sins to a fellow person who can tell me to "go and sin no more." There is something a little "extra" about our "confessing our sins one to another"--the Bible says it's how we're healed. In my experience, breaking the silence to another believer empowers us in a tangible way to leave sinful behaviors behind.
It keeps me accountable: I know God himself hears my prayers and forgives me, but unless I tell another believer it is just too tempting to keep bad behaviors and thought processes to myself and never make a change.
And personally, I do happen to believe that a priest's office confers something extra upon him in the way of absolving sins. That belief comforts me.

Thanks for the tip Trachy and Ken, I have never heard of copper-infused clothing, nor I think has Mr Marcher. He tends to be skeptical so I may happen to "find" some socks or ankle wraps via Google and be buying them for their quality or some other thing.
Sass good luck with the move!
