Class of April 2014 Part 17
Morning everyone,
(((((Up))))) that's three hugs this morning!
I've had this cold for 7 days now, it's time it went! I'm hoping my OH doesn't catch it, because that'll carry through until Christmas, and he's my head chef. It's always a bit off putting if the cooks have some sort of infectious disease
I'm hoping to get some more Christmas shopping done today. I'm not going mad this year, I'm trying to aim for thoughtful gifts rather than expensive ones. Usually I'm panicking a few days before Christmas and end up buying things which are just not needed. This year is a much more relaxed affair.
Hope everyone's day goes to plan.

Freein and Mariah,....good luck keeping it simple this year !
Great idea ,...
Off early to try a ride in this wintery weather on the road bike . Will check back in later to report anything positive !??
Hopefully the water ,.. snacks and small thermos of coffee will be enough to keep me out there a few miles. It's finally a toasty 42 * F at 9am ??

Morning everyone.
Thanks obo, how are you doing? Hope you're healing up and not in much pain.
Have a good ride top.
Didn't sleep that well, woke up with a sore neck. Oh well.
It's been 8 months today! Doesn't seem like it's been that long. I don't think I could have done it without all of you. No matter where you are on your journey don't give up, keep moving forward.

Congrats Up !!
It's warmed up to be a beautiful sunny day. Just returned from an easy 24 miles that took wa.aaay too long by any respectable standards,.......but I'll take it !?!
Mariah, ..thanks for mentioning *cleaning* last night. I've been esp. slack keeping the kitchen organized, so it felt good to get that taken care of early this am. Whenever I hesitate to unload the dishwasher, .....that's apparently problematic. LOL
Hope your neck feels better soon Up.

I'd be happy with 24miles, however long it took. I used to love cycling, it's something I'd like to get back to soon. That's probably going to be a New Years resolution for me.
Do you wear a cycling helmet Tops? That's the one thing I'm not keen on, but I know they're quite important these days.

My neck is feeling better top, I think I slept wrong.
I agree with free, I'd be happy to be able to do 24 miles. You would probably have to tow me behind a truck.
Sorry to hear that ST, hope you feel better soon. I can understand the hard times lately.
Good to see you luc

They're a good idea the more you ride. We have a no-helmet law here in SC for motorcycles and the majority of riders don't wear them. Cool factor and all, but they come in handy on a bicycle too if your head ever bounces off the asphalt. Eventually your bike begins to feel like an extension of your body and depending on your training goals, you'll begin to adopt a more aggressive riding style naturally.
Had some high speed crashes wearing a helmet without any helmet contact, but had a pretty bad head concussion on my first crash ( without a helmet )
We rode hard most days for 8 months and my first memory after that incident was 4 hours later !?!! My partner had to tell me what had happened during the crash and how we got home 'in the back of a pick up,...and how the EMT's finally had to leave without me in the ambulance after reviving me with oxygen. Even in a black out concussion I refused to take a ride to the hospital, and eventually started threatening them the more persistent they became. Apparently, I must've heard a ride in an ambulance cost more than 600 bucks around here !??
..... really cheap that way.
Anyway, ... had a short 15 minute black out concussion from boxing once ( losing by KO my first fight ), and they were similar in that the next day leaves you with an unbelievable splitting headache. No reverse pun intended, but a helmet's a no-brainer !
ST,...whenever I've found myself isolating in the past, it's really helped to force myself get out for longer walks , even for errands to the grocery store ....anywhere. Ideally where there are some folks around.
Just a short visit to Wal Mart yesterday had an unexpected upside. As usual , they didn't have what I needed, but the people watching was off the charts with the holiday shopping !
Have you heard that expression " change a thought, ..move a muscle " ?
It's really helped me out of getting bogged down sometimes.
Hi Lucrezia, .....that's quite the collection of emoticons !
