Embracing the good and bad of sobriety is right in line with what I learned today: "Count it all joy, brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds." Finding the joy in troubles brings about perseverance, which leads to maturity and completeness.
Maturity and completeness are what I want now that I'm sober; no more drowning my sorrows or throwing childish tantrums!

Checking in for another 24 hours of sobriety, please. 6:08 p.m. EDT, eastern u.s.
Quote for the day: "To make the changes we want, we need to let go of unhealthy but comfortable patterns that we're stuck in, the way the trees let their colors change, and finally let go of their leaves altogether." Marie Lindquist

I’m bird-brained. The eastern Piping Plover is an endangered small, shy shore bird, with only about 3,500 members estimated in the entire population on the Atlantic coast. It has protected nesting grounds in the Rockaways in Queens, a borough of New York City you may have heard of if you've ever listened to the Ramones. I hear that the piping plovers there had a baby boom in 2014!
Don’t quit ‘til you’ve seen every kind of bird!
