Drake so sorry to hear about your friend David. I will say a prayer - my kind of atheist prayer - for him.
25 years. Hopefully, his depression will be looked after and cured. He must have felt very very lonely.
Take care, these news can really shake us up.

Hey Carlos!
Belated backatcha!
Toots,
I am not unwell, thanks for asking! You sure manage to make us all felt "kept" in your well wishes.
Jeni,
Was great to hear from you, you are in my thoughts frequently.
IP,
If you want the best of both worlds, a city of 105,000,yet it is essentially old world with no skyscrapers and a central Maktplatz stay in Trier, the furthest into Germany the Romans pushed. They have Roman ruins, the "Porta Nigra" a big dark gate to the city. It's the oldest city in Germany, with lots of ruins of a coliseum, public baths and the scenic banks of the Moselle river with centuries old bridges. It was the birthplace of Karl Marx, and has a major university there. Our US Air Force base is ten miles from there. We've been many times. Trier - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia if you scroll down and look at the panoramic view you'll see it looks much the same as in medieval times. Look at this map to see its greatest asset :benelux countries - Bing Images
See Trier Germany right next to Luxembourg? And how close it is to Belgium, The Netherlands, France? Paris is driving distance for a weekend trip. I couldn't see everything I wanted and I had seven years. But of all the villages and towns I visited, it had the most ancient ambiance, and be a modern city embracing it.
Congrats on 33 months!T
Hey DP!
So you're OCD about being OCD? London is a place I'd love to go back to too. But never having been there, just Manchester for a weekend, guess I can't go back. Only forward. Sheesh! Even I don't make sense to me.
RZ!
Congrats on putting the crowd in the palms of your hands. It is great when the efforts pay off. It isn't luck, you guys earned them over.
LB,
Terrific pic. Raised two kids, it is strange for a bit. Parents always manage to survive, even though it seems we'll never feel rested again. You will.
Drake,
Positive thoughts for David.
FBL,
We're both getting a break from weather extremes! Our one week warmer weather is going to be tempered by a high pressure dry and cooler front.
Going for an EKG tomorrow as ordered through my doc by the Laser Spinal folks. Suddenly it seems to be tolerable. My yellow discoloration down the middle of my back is returning again.
Nite all

Immediately,
EKG (ECG) was perfect. Chest films normal, BP 120/70, and blood drawn was reddish purple. My local GP asked if they are going to schedule me right away and I said beats me I haven't done their program before.
So we will see what they say when they see the results of today's tests. The blood results will be in tomorrow morning and the nurse will call them in to me around noon. My GP is awesome. He runs his practice like an assembly line but he has it together for each patient. I don't know how he does it. He's been my doc for twenty years.
Thanks for asking. So how're things in your travels?

Hello, hello, hello. I got my licence to be here, yippee.
Although in my dreams I am a drunk again, hiding drink and lying and thinking of my next drink which will be probably when I sleep again, thank goodness they're just dreams, haha.
Hope to visit more often, happy Wednesday

You know how when you quit drinking you think all your problems will go away but they don't, they actually kind of get worse? Same thing happens when you move to another country to "find yourself". That's exactly what happens, you find yourself. Because suddenly you're kind of faced with yourself and how you deal with the world and it's not always that great. I can't believe what I've learned about myself in such a short time. It's amazing. I am so tired of living out of a bag that I want to scream. Literally I want to scream sometimes. Just not being able to cook what I want and shower when I want, and have privacy, is kind of making me a little bit crazy. Two more nights till I'm in my own place!
Thanks for that tip Itchy I'm checking that city out!
Welcome Mags and Bob! Congratulations, a year is awesome.
