Good afternoon Marchers I've been busy all weekend with cooking for a 50th next weekend and friends staying over this past weekend. All good. I wanted to stop by and see how everyone is travelling -- Dee it's great to see your name here, I've missed having you around though I appreciate the reason.

Marcher? Gilmer? You have one?
I do Shoes but I have a problem lifting it these days as I have a small touch of arthritis at the base of the thumb of my left hand. Trachy your cookware sounds great though I had to Google the Corn one to see what you were talking about. How cool!

Toots I am sending good karma your way. Good idea not to drink: I just finished a cup of Earl Grey and Bergamot which is better than anything alcoholic.

Had an odd thing happen on the weekend: although I didn't know him well I had met and several times worked with a man who was a passenger on the Malaysian flight shot down in the Ukraine. It was very sad to hear, he and his wife were travelling after finally retiring from teaching.

Take care of yourselves peeps.

Good afternoon Marchers I'm having a precious day off work to recharge the batteries a little. I had an hour's sleep-in this morning, then a gorgeous hour laying in the sun and this afternoon I am going to play with my new iPad. Sweet. I can't remember when I had a day off besides weekends so I'm enjoying this all the more.

Hope that everyone's travelling well and enjoying their cookware.

Have a good day peeps.

Ditto from me, too, Marcher.

And Toots my dear, you get a *huge* thanks for the Feliway diffuser idea! My cat is much calmer and no longer hides under my comforter at the least provocation. The difference is very noticeable and yet sometimes subtle. I tried tranqs from vet and she was miserable :-( so I also got the Feliway spray for her cat carrier. I'm supposed to spray it 20 minutes before putting her in.

Moving day is a week from Friday so I'm madly packing! I hope to post more regularly after that. I am reading and thinking of you all!

Boring around my world too.

Oooh, ipad Marcher? Have fun downloading free apps. I sometimes wonder how I lived without mine before. It goes everywhere with me. I think it's on it last leg. It's been crashing a lot lately. If it had an odometer, it would have turned over an easy 100k by now.
I love it more than shoes. Still love my old books though. Ipad doesn't have that old book smell I love so much.

You know someday future generations will never know the joy of buying an old book that has a beautiful love note written in the back of the front cover. I have an old book of poetry and the sweetheart in 1932 wrote to his sweetheart a lovely sentiment and also notated all the poems that made him think of her inside the cover. Sigh. Ya can't do that with an ipad as great as they are.

Anyhoo, dullsville here and I'm the Mayor.

xoxo

I do love my books Shoes, but now I have my kindle app on my ipad, I can down load all the free kindle and apple books I want.
Marcher there are some lovely classics on apple for free to read if you haven't looked yet.

Glad for the post art from Budville

All quiet in Tootsville, still sorting stuff

Need some excitement and adventure, Marchers? I got you covered 'cause we're in uncharted territory now.

I haven't been this long without a drink in forever. A mere 21 days. March '13 I didn't make it this long. Depression and anxiety double teamed me and I went back to drinking. I fought it, though. I could get a few days off, a week sometimes, before crashing back into the vodka. When I was sober, I researched and planned.

This time back, I came loaded for beast. Better living through chemistry. The mild anti-depressant I'm taking has completely stopped my withdrawal problems. No depression, no anxiety. Sure, it was just trading crutches. But this is a lot better for me than the amount of booze I was drinking. I'm feeling good about my chance of success this time.

So, grab your pith helmet and machete, and let's go whacking through the deepest, darkest part of my unknown.

We're here for the long haul, Trach. We promise to just hack away obstructive underbrush with the machetes--we won't harm you or any other living creatures!

Was going to sign up for an Old Testament class today involving lots of meaty research and a long paper, but was strongly urged to take Hebrew II instead.

OK, sign me up.

Nope--got to buy books first (for Hebrew I there were no extra books--the material was all online). So I have to wait an extra week till I officially register. Bummer--I've gotten good and bored, and I wanted to get going on re-engaging my brain.

Oh, well--at least these books look interesting--and there will be lectures by the professor. I had seen some of the online material, and it looked way over my head. Now that I've seen the syllabus, I am somewhat reassured that I am capable of handling it.
