~~~Food for thought ~ The Sobriety Sunday Sessionz~~~
~~~Time 4 Your Breakthrough~~~
It's your time for a breakthrough! Make up your mind to leave the past and the old you behind. Focus on giving birth to a new you....the real you. It's your time to create a turning point for the better in your life.
It is your destiny to be healthy, happy and successful. Your future is open, full of possibility and promise! Buckle down and do whatever is required to create a life that you are proud of and a life that you deserve!
Don't look back!! Look ahead, Do what is required and what is best for your future in this moment, right now, then move forward and make this your best year ever! You have the something special. You have GREATNESS within you!!!

Work, yes, please share a picture! And send any lost geckos my way. We just paid a small fortune to set up a habitat for our daughter's pet gecko so we would be happy to take in orphans. Truthfully, I have become pretty fond of the little thing. He is so soft!
Brooksie, you are nailing it on so many levels! It's great to hear your enthusiasm and commitment. I am envious of the circle of people you have to share this journey with face to face. Don't take it for granted (it doesn't sound like you are)!
Fish, what's going on? Are you homesick or is it something more? I remember Sundays being difficult when I was in college, being away from home on a day that is traditionally thought of as a family day, even if in reality it didn't usual play out that way. Let us know what is going on if you can, ok?
Lillian, I think we need a poem! It has been too long since you have shared your muse with us. No pressure, but I miss your art!
Love to all my September friends. We seem to have hit a groove, more or less, but let's stay attentive. I wonder if the change of seasons will challenge us? If the seasons ever change....

I am not giving up I am just homesick and I miss my privacy. I have to get fully dressed and walk down the hall to get a cup of coffee and everybody wants to talk to me and I am like I don't want to be rude but I have not had my coffee yet and my brain is not working and this guy said Coffee is bad for you. And I'm like me stomping your ass would be bad for you leave me alone. Anyhow I have lost my vistor privileges for the week . Venting
Fishy, living with strangers while you are recovering certainly has it's ups and downs I'm sure. But I agree with Dee that you've been sounding great!
Renarde way to go!! So happy for you!!

Hang in there, Fishy. What's up? It has sounded like things are going well. I am sure you miss you privacy and family, though.
Editing to add: Oops, I posted this before I read your next post. All of that would be hard for me too. I like my space and privacy.

I picture you coming at Mr. Anti-Coffee like this..
Renarde ~ six months is so huge!! Yay you!!!
This made me think of you guys.
Sweet Sobriety
As my time draws ever closer,
and the end is coming near;
It will soon be time to walk out these doors,
and once again face my fears.
I've learned so very much in group,
from everyone who shared;
And as I opened up a bit,
and my demons in life I bared;
I found a joy and peace,
deep inside my heart;
I found a kindard spirit in group,
in which we all took part.
I truely found in this heart of mine,
a special love for you all.
You picked me up when I was down,
and showed me how to stand tall.
And to the staff at Highland Ridge,
I thank you with all my heart!
I will always carry you with me,
though we are miles apart;
For you gave to me the tools,
to live a life of peace,
You guided me to my higher power,
whose blessings never cease.
I thank you all from the bottom of my heart,
I thank you with all of me!
I wish you all the best in life,
and sweet sobriety! ! ! ! !

Hey Renarde
Reaching six months is a really solid milestone. I am less than a fortnight behind you so I can well imagine the satisfaction you are enjoying ! It is only the more inspirational given the long running battles you have had with illnesses, study and home life pressures ! The road is long and you have made solid, meaningful steps. Keep the faith in yourself and carry on.

Congratulations Renarde!
Fish, I would feel the same, I can't make it out the door before I've had some coffee. And
privacy is a real luxury but it only becomes evident when you don't have it.
Lommey, I am not good at sharing at all. I try but usually my shares are short and not exactly what I would call, uh, inspired..
Over here I only found one gecko inside, plus another one trying to get past the insect net in a window. I think the reason why the geckos are a "problem" in this case is that this house is uninhabited for most of the year. If people would live here continously geckos would come and go but not stay and make themselves comfortable (take a dump). Jetlagged and confused but the light here is great. I noticed while still in the taxi from the airport that despite a long flight I was full of energy.
It's possible that I may try to join Dee and Kaneda by moving to Australia in the future. Not for tanning or surfing but for the good of my mental health.
Close to my 6 months now

I was sitting here hoping 2014 is going to be a better year than last. So far so good. It's good to have hope. It made me think of Emily.....
Hope is the thing with feathers
Hope is the thing with feathers
That perches in the soul,
And sings the tune without the words,
And never stops at all,
And sweetest in the gale is heard;
And sore must be the storm
That could abash the little bird
That kept so many warm.
I've heard it in the chillest land,
And on the strangest sea;
Yet, never, in extremity,
It asked a crumb of me.
~Emily Dickinson

For Work :-)
A beautiful morn bloomed for the Southeast Asian gecko,
His vacation villa with décor a la Art Deco;
Warm, lovely and humid was the Thai jungle,
It was everyone else who needed anti-fungal.
The little lizard was filled with peace,
Upside down on a ceiling that seemed like fleece.
In came the Workaholic doctor, needing a vacation;
Sunshine, warmth and a whole lot of meditation.
"Mr. Gecko, I'm from Sweden,
And Thailand is my Garden of Eden.
Cold-blooded reptile,
It's time for your exile!!"
The newt quickly blinked,
Scurrying before he became extinct,
Fear led to excrement,
A grave breach of gecko etiquette!!
The lizard bravely jumped around the room,
Evading the enraged vacationer's broom.
Tired and spent,
The small alligator did repent,
Giving his life to just make the broom stop,
*Cough* *Cough* "You got me Sir Judo Chop!"
And the little guy said his final good-bye,
The good doctor's home.....finally at peace....in the blink....of an eye.
