One Year and Over Club Part 15
Happy Valentines Day
We have rain just in time Junior Touch Footy State cup this weekend. My daughter is gonna get wet ... I will be hiding under the umbrella ... remembering my MANY state cups played in the rain with lots of mud and puddles to deal with.

Hi, Overries!
My 2 cents about the weather - wet snow turning into rain and fog)
Mood has somewhat improved today, so enjoying the moment.

Hi all. Watching the Men's long program. Ever since they have gotten rid of the figures and placed so much emphasis on the jumps the women's competition is a bunch of teenagers who haven't had time to develop grace. It's quite sad coming from someone with a lot of training on this level. As is, the men are all falling down and/or touching the ice as this has become a Quad contest (jumps with four revolutions in the air). At one point they said Jason Brown had to be near perfect because he doesn't have a Quad yet he has consistency. So basically it's better to fall on a Quad than not even try. It never was that way with the old scoring system. Any wonder why when our rink opens I'll be testing ice dancing instead of finishing my freestyle skating tests. Still not sure which discipline I'll coach. Most likely women's so I can help them learn the grace which was a requirement when I was training. Without it, your scores dropped without the softness and grace.
I know most of you don't care about this but skating was such a large part of my life as a child/teen it's not something that can just go away. I was training 8-10 hours a day and loved it. To this day I feel more natural on blades than flat shoes lol.
The other Olympic competition I'm looking forward to is the women's ski jumping. This is the first time they have been able to compete although they have competed on the international level. As a woman myself, this was long overdue.
My friend who had the brain tumor removed is coming to live and be a housemate in the next couple days. She had recently moved to a town 100 miles away and doesn't have the support system. When a piece of your skull has been removed you don't feel like walking to the grocery store two weeks later. Her friends and support system are all here. I've been feeling helpless talking to her and am so thankful now I can do somethings to help and give her support. Zero also loves her which will give her some additional affection.
This photo is Zero waiting for his friend. After me, she was his first friend.
As you can see my life is really normal these days. I just keep up my guard against drugs and alcohol. That is something I always need to be aware of. It doesn't go away but also doesn't mean my life has to come to a halt. The fact I can't stand the smell of booze is also a plus.
