Great hunk o' meat Fish! :P

UI, what's a cooking rack?
Don't you just put the turkey into the oven and uh heat it for the time suggested in the cooking instructions that come with it?

I do not use a rack for my turkey. I sort of make a rack with celery and carrots and sometimes onions. Today my onion is in the cavity with sage, thyme and rosemary, and half a clove of garlic. All that makes for good flavors for the drippings and gravy.

Heading up to take my shower before heading out to visit family. I'm rather stiff from my run right now, but so happy I finished! I got two more dishes in and, of course, the bird. The rest of the family's clearing off the paper and junk from the dining room table, I'm here, and Dylan's playing on the radio. Again, to continue last night's "Thankful" part of the thread... feeling very blessed.

Gearing up for my one Virgin Mary, then water with lemon/lime. Yes... I WISH I could drink, but I know better. Funny ... I'm struggling more than I expected. Fine one moment and then not the next.

Going to re-read the Urge Surfing post of Dee's again before we leave, I think.

That's so sad, Uninvited, if your family's mother's in jail, after all. "There but for the Grace of God, go I" is what immediately comes to my mind.

Hey folks! The meal we went to was a let down, as expected. The food was not great and we ate with plastic forks. We were therefor an hour and went home. I am SO glad I am doing a big meal tomorrow!!

Glad everyone is having a decent day today.

I've had a sandwich with alot of smoked turkey breast slices and some blackcurrant jelly on top. That's the best I can do over here. Thankful to be here in soberspace rather than in the pub drinking 3 pints an hour.

The good thing now is that you're HOME, and that's where I always tell my kids... the heart is. Corny, I know, but even they admit it's true these days! I guess we did something right, as often as I wonder if only I'd done things differently.

Enjoy your evening, now. Are you studying or can you get comfy and watch a good movie? Do a game night?

Then again, I suppose you're planning your big post-Thankgiving meal.

We are eating late for a holiday. The kids like to snack and if I serve a too early dinner, they never eat much. So, the strategy is to starve them, pretty much, and then have early evening dinner. So, turkey is 10 degrees away from coming out of the oven. Potatoes fired up, dressing in the oven, and mineral water in my glass.

Ok I only know this cause my mom used to use one. It's a rack you put in a pan to keep the turkey off the bottom of the pan. Then everything drips down under it?

I think it's also known as a broiler pan
