Hi everyone, hope all of you are doing okay. WOW Dee have you been helping us for a while now? Just want to thank you.
I had a rough day yesterday, with this revolving pain I have been in for sooo long now.I have been on this gabapentin for almost a year now. I think it is worse than opiates for withdrawl if I run out,try not to. But it has helped. So after a meeting with my pain still coming on strong I parked at a place to buy alcohol. My addict side of my brain wanted relief, and my reasoning side was arguing with the addict hahaha. It is so wierd how we do that huh? I was not gonna lose almost a year and went home, that was close but I won with GODs help. How are all of you doing? We will do this, one day at a a time right?
we will do this together

Wow Sonja, good job on resisting. I feel like the more sober time we have, the more it is a motivation to stick with it -- like you I have often had the thought that I am not going to blow all my time, esp now that we are approaching a year!
Just popping in to say hi this morning. I weighed myself this morning and discovered that I've lost 15 pounds now since I quit drinking. For the most part this has been with little other effort; I run regularly and my sweets consumption finally seems to be dropping off, but I haven't been counting calories or anything. It must have really been astounding how many calories I was taking in through alcohol, thankfully that's no longer the case
Hope everyone is having a great day!

Sobersonja congrats on beating your urge to buy alcoh&ll. Hopefully your surgery will stop your pain so you don't have to rely on the meds! Does your doctor know about your drinking history?
SBTS congrats on the weight loss, that was a bonus for me too Another added benefit of being sober, that's for sure!

Here it is !!! The start of 12 month anniversary dates.
I would like to be the first to offer congrats to those who have made it, those about to and to those that are still around fighting the fight.
Happy Podium Monday to all.
