I have one more interview to go... fingers crossed. But verbally they offered, so it should be OK unless this next guy and I really don't hit it off.

It's a job with a tech start up... my field is kinda small so I don't want to say much about either the company or my role. Maybe once I've actually got an offer I'll breathe a little easier and say more.

You don't have to say more, just curious. Wishing you lots of luck!!

Week 2 of yoga class and I have decided to work my vegetarian diet more towards vegan so I haven't had any animal products in two days. Working out and eating healthy?! I used to try and be healthy but then is drink 1500 calories and eat 2000 more to feel better.... And working out consisted of bartending 11 hour shifts. Such a better place now.

Has anyone besides me and fantail tried yoga? It's pretty magical.

That's just so good Mel

Amazing what we did to ourselves before, huh???
I know how much I am enjoying being fit and healthy for maybe the first time in my life.

Yoga is not for me somehow...but I am considering pilates.... what do you think?

Hi everyone, just a quick check in, firstly a big well done on the job Fantail!

Ive been ok on the whole still in the temporary job and still enjoying it, don't want the alcohol to wreck it so need to be on my guard, already missed 2 days through 'illness' im sad to say but well back on track again now, made the decision to get back into AA meetings and went to my home group last night and it was a relief to be back. Went for a coffee afterwards with a friend from AA and we laughed and laughed, it felt great to be enjoying myself with just a coffee and no booze in sight.

I'll try and float by more often, you still inspire me, take care and keep going guys your doing great.

I've recently been displaced and let the stress and sadness get the best of me and I have drank a few times. Nothing like before but that is besides the point. I dont know what to do, because Ive lost the "i need to quit 100% mentality"
I just dont care as much anymore!

Arctic, sorry you slipped, but you came back here and that's great. it might seem like a great time to drink, because bad stuff happened and being sober didn't help. i'm really sorry that you are sad and something bad happened. it might not seem like it now, but being sober is really the BEST way to deal with grief, stress, and loss. (I have to remind myself of this almost every day in the stress department.) When we are sober, there is no guarantee that things won't suck. But we know for sure that while alcohol alleviates stress/grief/loss/unfriendly emotions for a short time, they always some back and usually come back much worse.

in sobriety, life can still suck. but it is guaranteed to suck at least 10 percent less.

So good to see you 1stepup.
Keep fighting the good fight!!!

So many hugs lovely liss!!
Hope you get a chance to rest.
Sorry you're sick hun, and is the iPhone insured?

Sorry to hear that you're feeling low Arctic ~ this disease is tricky.
Once we let the alcohol back in the door a few times, our brain will tell us all sorts of stuff to keep us drinking (I believe).

As wehav said ~ it seems to make things harder to deal with, though.
For me, it never alleviated the stress at all; it compounded it.
Hope things improve for you...heaps of love headed your way.

And wehav (((hugs))) so happy you're posting, have really really missed you.

Tired and hungry, but I have lots of food here for once, and a day off tomorrow,
so yey!!!

Love to everyone,

Venus xx

Hi everyone!

Really great to see familiar faces checking in again! Not great Internet access, so I'm missing a ton of updates on ya'll.

Congrats to fantail and mel!
1step - perseverance with making positive choices counts a lot. Keep it up!
ArticSA - gosh, that is quite stressful. research NAFTA retraining and other state services. In some cases you'll qualify for 2 years of retraining and bennies.

For me: positives
Doing well on the alcohol/smoking/exercise/sugar front.
Currently in the crostian islands. Sun+ Adriatic water is quite healing on the skin (sure a healthy liver and drinking lots of water helps too!)
I'm enjoying my up at 6am, bed at midnight - everyday-is-something-new pace for now.

Slips
Failing on diet coke - was way too hard to travel w/o something and my brain told me " its not that bad for you". However, I have noticed my anxiety and everything else go up as a result, which has been eye opening - it's been a week.

Not decided to act on quiting again yet though - not sure I'm set up for success on this one while traveling.

Ok. Night night everyone! Sweet dreams!

Hey guys. Day 5 of my vegan project and something unexpected is happening. I feel great energetically but I've had really bad headaches which I never get. I googled it and found that some people are addicted to the hormones in dairy and get headaches because they are detoxing- I had no idea, but leave it to an alcoholic to be addicted to cheese.

Anyways- good to see some old friends stopping by- I hope you will rejoin us full time when you're ready.

Liss and V- you two are funny- def a set of kindred spirits. Hahaha @ denying her friend request.
