Last few days had some type of bug sore throat head cold, its the real deal when a man gets it remember
Feeling better and feel so great that I am sober.

Congrats on all getting past 8 months myself included, I can see the one year peak in the distance we must be climbing , no going back.

Great stuff here in them there messages! I so agree that be it minutes, hours, days or months - all that matters is the sober part. Minute by minute is more than fine, ya know?? The more distance I have from the bottle the more grounded and in control I feel. That is an awesome feeling to this Grammi The birthday boy had a super day. We had a too short time together but now that I have shown my true colors in person I can see that the holidays will be family filled again. That alone is worth the effort to stay stopped. I'm just filled with peace and serenity. Thank you all for being my support system. I love you all and am so proud of each of you and your amazing efforts on this journey - we are really something special! Love and gratitude - Tammi

You guys are too funny!! My hubs would totally agree, any cold he gets is way worse than mine, hehe. I'm so happy for you NBC, it must have been wonderful to spend time with your grandson. Your son will forgive and forget and that is the BEST reason to stay sober.
Darkdays, I never congratulated you on 8 months so congrats on day 249!
And congrats to rest of our awesome class, this Sober September seems to be going well for us. Onward and Upward!

Decided to come off Campral/acamprosate as I have been soooooo tired lately. I thought it might be the meds and I'm sick of taking 6 a day.

I've spent the evening trying to find withdrawal effects from them as I started shaking and craving sugary things, but there's nothing mentioned anywhere. Weird, it's probably just me, so I guess I'll poke NHS direct tomorrow.

Just got to keep a close eye on how I feel now mentally now. I'm not risking anything for the want of taking a few tablets a day. I don't think they work though lol.

I should be asleep. I'm training to be an adviser at the Citizens Advice Bureau and need to be up in five hours. Whoops!

Love and hugs to all xxxxxx

ETA: Oh and of course I am craving alcohol a little, but that's only logical. I'm coming off a medication which supposedly helps control cravings. That means I'm self monitoring my cravings more, thus thinking about it more. They shut up pretty quickly these days

What, no one posted today? Hope that means we all had the most amazing, super-productive day and are just too exhausted from the overload of happiness
Just a quick hello from me to say I love you all and you're in my thoughts as always.
Just home from a very long day at work.
Wishing everyone a great night and an even better sober tomorrow! xo

I have had a good week faceit and busy, busy! Today was my daughter's 24th birthday so I've been eating mac and cheese, cake and ice cream. Burp, in a food coma at the moment. I'll have to walk it off this weekend! But it's a whole lot better than a wine coma, ha.
Wishing my SR family a great Friday and weekend, too! Virtual hugs heading your way.

Good morning everyone!

Hoping the weekend is soberlicious and fun filled for us all. Keep up the great work - sobriety is a lovely accessory. Billy Pilgrim you are missed - check in when you can, don't make me swim the English Channel to hunt you down as NBC in swim attire is just not a pretty site!

We have Jeff Dunham in concert at the casino tonight. It will be wildly busy but it is so nice to go into these events fully prepared (in every way) and unhungover. Just got news that my boss that was let go got a fabulous job with Disney in Orlando. It was an honor to me that he used me as a reference and when they called me yesterday I was able to convey my thoughts and feelings in a manner that was intelligent, cohesive, and helful to him. I'm so happy for him!!

Need to get busy but was thinking of you all this morning. Much love and happiness to you all! T

Things have got a lot better of late for me, cravings have really eased up, weekends still get thoughts, but I am never going back not going to throw this all away to get myself back into that horror cycle of drink/hangover respeat bs.

Was listening to some people talk the other day , one said "I really do not know how as an adult how one can enjoy life without alcohol". Hearing things like this make me even more determined than ever to stay away from this fiendish drug , people are possessed by it they really are, there is mass denial here in the uk . Sober is so cool, free from the brainwashing and conditioning that you need a drug to enjoy life.

Have a great weekend all.
