Ann...I like a good joke, no matter what the country of origin.
An American, a Scot and a Canuk
An American, a Scot and a Canuk were in a terrible car accident. They were all brought to the same emergency room, but all three of them died before they arrived. Just as they were about to put the toe tag on the American, he stirred and opened his eyes. Astonished, the doctors and nurses present asked him what happened.
"Well," said the American, "I remember the crash, and then there was a beautiful light, and then the Canadian and the Scot and I were standing at the gates of heaven. St. Peter approached us and said that we were all too young to die, and that for a donation of $100, we could return to the earth."
He continued, " So of course, I pulled out my wallet and gave him the $100, and the next thing I knew I was back here."
"That's amazing!" said one of the doctors, "But what happened to the other two?"
"Last I saw them," replied the American, "the Scot was haggling over the price and the Canadian was waiting for the government to pay for his."

Because anything worthwhile is worth working for?
Because nothing worthwhile comes easy?
Because if anything worthwhile came easy, we wouldn't really appreciate it?
Because it's often difficult to face the truth?
Because we've become too accustomed to running from the truth?
Because if we face the truth, we may be required to make a lot of difficult changes?
No pain, no gain?

Jerz..
I was thinking about this the other day...I wrote a poem about my "running"
once, but gave no reason why. Why did it take so long for me?
You just gave me an answer.
Thanks!

Wild thing you make my heart sing
You make everything Groooovy.
Other version when I was in grade 8
Wild thing you make my thing spring
You make everything Grooovy.
Remember doing stupid things like that with songs?
Now all these old songs with changed lyrics are foing through my head.
Some are quite funny but I gotta get back to a sullen mood to come up with my daily.
This bought back memories of collecting cards. I still have an old card from when Roger Maris, fielder for the New York Yankees hit 61 home runs in 1961. My whine is that when the home run record was broken in 1998 37 years later the value of that card fell as quickly as General Motors stock. The good news is I don't own any GM stock. I sold it all in 2000 to buy Enron.
