Least..you might try doing what I do with an IRS letter. I open them verrrrry slowly.

Sometimes it's not so great news. But they are working with me..clearing wreckage of

my past. I didn't open one letter for a couple of days..and they had knocked off

3,000 from my debt. You just never know.

I understand the fear. But your rent is paid. And when you have done all you can do...

Stand.

I was worried for nothing. I prayed for the strength to stand whatever was in the letter, and I opened it. I am one month behind so will have to catch up, and they told me they decided not to sell the place after all. And they're putting a new roof on the house. So I was upset over something that hadn't happened and wasn't going to happen.:ghug

I have to wait until I am 65 to get my government old age pension. The government may be broke by then if it keeps bailing out the car companies.

That's why I plan to take an early CPP, Fub. If you do the math, and especially if you are still working like me and won't have to pay premiums anymore...I win until I am 84 years old and even then only lose by a few dollars a month.

Just call me "older than dirt". Second thought, dontcha dare.

Never posted in this thread before. I hope Im at the right place. 7 am and my day is already starting off crappy. Long story, but heres the short version. I have an ex GF who just wont leave me alone. Calls me and texts me pretty much daily. I ask her to stop calling and that lasts a couple few days. (of course answering the phone doesnt help) I stopped off and saw her the other day since I was in the neighborhood applying for a job. (figured it must be GODs will) I struggle with staying away from her cause I do still have feelings for her. So, I was sharing about this at a meeting the other day and someone cut me off. That pissed me off. So, 5:30 am this morning my phone is ringing. I wake up and see on the caller ID its my ex GF. I dont answer. Then the first thing in my mind is the person who cut me off at the meeting the other day when I was sharing about my struggles. I dont like this person. They have even stalked me here at SR. (another story) And there has been other incidents. "Principles before personalities" So I go for coffee. I get there and they are out of large cups. Arrrrr. Whatever. I make my coffee and take off down the road. ITS STALE AND ITS NOT HOT!!!!! OK, Im done. I feel better now.

I will definitely take the early CPP.
I am a avid DIY financial planner.
I am retired, sorta retired anyways as I was a MR. Mom for the last 20 years.
My retirement plan goes until I am 90 when my money runs out and then I will fake (hopefully) dimentia and live out my days in an old age home.
I was actually talking about the old age pension.

You're right, I tried this too. There are size limits on avatars and I think because this is a gif. image it exceeds the limit. If you google animated dinosaurs or gif. dinosuars you'll find plenty and quite a few that will "move" as your avatar.

HAPPY ST. JOSEPH'S DAY!

We made zeppoles in the Activities Room this morning.

My simple homemade recipe:
cans of biscuits (we got them on sale 2/$1.00)
break them out of can, and roll each biscuit into a ball
drop into deep fat and fry until golden brown
lift each one out with slotted spoon, and drain on paper towels or brown paper
put powdered sugar in small brown paper bag (or ziploc bag will do)
lift them out and set on plate

EAT...GET COVERED IN POWDERED SUGAR...ENJOY!

I got a stimulus check. It was sent to my daughter's old address, so the friend now living in that apartment called her. When he told her, she thought it had to be some kind of government error, so she asked him to open the envelope. She said he darn near choked when he read the amount: $39,400. (a bit more than the $250. I'm looking forward to). She asked him to read it again, since I'm 77 years old in a nursing home. He reaffirmed, and then noticed it was indeed a stimulus check for that amount...from Dodge Auto...a down payment towards a vehicle...presumably a high-end one at $60,000. or so!?!

Well, I sure was stimulated!!!

This little number might not be bad at $80,000 - $87,000 with a top speed of 125mph.

It's a Fisker-Karma. The only problem might be I no longer have a driver's license.
