My grams just made the best homemade fried chicken ever. And this is really strange. But I dont recall her ever making fried chicken ever. I requested it tonight. And it was awesome.

My lil cousins are spending the night. I am really enjoying them being here. I havent in a long time. They usually work my nerves really fast. But thats my fault. Me and the oldest were just doing virtual rollercoaster rides on youtube. LOL this kid loves rollercoasters and hes only 6.

Anyway..Today was fairly stress free. Got alot done. Actually was productive today. And that always feels good.

Glad to make it through day six, especially after wavering around our 5:00PM "cocktail hour." Thought things through and didn't want to ruin it...

Thank you SR friends for keeping me focused.

Hi Chiy. It is good to see you sounding so much more chipper. Virtual Rollercoaster sounds like about my speed as my stomach can't handle the real ones any longer. I hope all goes well for you on Monday.

I am up early today and watching a beautiful sunrise. The last time I saw a sunrise it was really blurry. This is cool. Beats being in bed with a hangover. I think I am going to enjoy the simpler things in life a lot more. I may even hug a tree today.

Sun's out, listening to the birds, and beginning day 8. The house is quiet, too, since I'm here alone with the goldens before heading off to work. It's nice, and I'm sooooo grateful.

Tomorrow is St. Patricks day... and I live in Ireland, I almost forgot it. One time I would be planning for months....I am not stocking up with drink or planning a session or better again ....jealous that anyone else is. I am free from the chains of alcohol today yipee!! I will go for dinner with hubby and if I feel like it I will watch the parade I will come and go as I please.

After having over six months sober and then falling off the wagon, I now have 30 days.

I think everyone can play, because we all help eachother and we're always recovering. Most of all -- t's nice to know that you still feel thankful for sobriety after a lot of time under your belt!

Happy St. Patty's day, BTW. Have the corned beef, cabbage and potatoes all ready as it's one of my family's favorite meals. Yum!

What's good today is that even tho I felt crappy this morning, I was able to make myself vac and mop the house (it was filthy) and clean the rat cage. Next up is washing a week's worth of dishes and changing the kitty litter in six boxes! Maybe do that tomorrow...

Corned beef and cabbage is whats awesome today.
Have a new found feeling of determination today. Dont feel so drained. And I just had a great breakfast of a cheese omlette, corned beef hash and sausage.
Suppose to be almost 60 degrees today. Had my window open all night. Plan on getting outside for a little while today.
2 more days until my IOP appt.
Slow but sure.

My niece, Brit, has been doing a lot of cleaning around the house, lately so I brought her favorite dinner and milkshake home from work last night..she was tickled pink. Today, I took her to the store in my rental car, and we cranked the stereo up and sang like we were stars!! Bought her some soft drinks and her favorite chips, told her how much I appreciate all she's done. Stepmom is too wrapped up in her addiction to notice.

I'm grateful that I'm in recovery and can be a good role model for this 15-year-old, who I love dearly.

Hugs and prayers!

Amy

What a day yall. Absolutely gorgeous outside today. Took a walk. Played with the lil cousins. HAd an awesome dinner. Got some junk cleared out of my head.
I have got a whole new attitude comin on.
My friends here have been facing some hard times. As well as I have. But we have each other and we are still keepin our heads up.
We may have our bad days. But they definately arent as many as they use to be.
Or could be. And yes..I agree..Amy's sig rocks and just sums that all up.
Love you guys.

Today I decided to quit drinking for myself. Tonight I was able to take care of my 12 day old son and post on SR. I think I can start to dig this sobriety thing.
