My dogs' company is what's good for me today.

new brakes and tires on my car. wheee! now I don't have to feel as if I'm gonna crash and burn every time I put on the brakes and when the snow and ice come I'll actually have traction. oh yeah.

worked all day and will tomorrow as well. That'll help pay for repairs so that is good even though I prefer to use my weekends in other ways.

sober and clean today. sun was shining, breezes and clouds and whitetail deer in my backyard as usual.

Today's turned out sort of rotten, but I can still think of what's good about it:

I live in a warm house in a good neighborhood.

My dogs and I have food to eat.

I have cigarettes.

I have a computer, a stereo, and lots of books to read and movies to watch.

Both my parents are still living and in good health.

I had a healthy and happy childhood.

I have lots of friends.

My disability was approved last year so I don't have to worry about looking for work I can't do.

My dogs are healthy, despite being 1) elderly and 2) diabetic and blind.

My dogs are lying on my floor sleeping peacefully and I'm the one who keeps them peaceful and happy.

I can think of lots more, but this is just to remind me that there's a lot of good in my life, even tho there are some bad things in it.

I am snuggling with my youngest watching a disney movie. We are cozy and safe. It has been 7 days since I woke up with a hangover! What a treat.

What's really good today was getting a Christmas card in the mail from my dog-rescue-friend's bf. He sent me money for Christmas! I was able to get my two prescriptions that I couldn't afford to get before, and was also able to get my little dog some more of his special food. They have helped me with his expenses since they gave him to me over two years ago. I can't think of two nicer people in the world.

What's good today is that the sun is shining and I feel better than I have for a couple weeks. I'm in a good mood for no reason at all, and feel good about myself today - which is a change. The dogs are sleeping on my floor and all is well with them, which is important to me.
