leading a meeting after only 30 days clean and sober. I didn't think that was done in AA. And Keaton's character was a total ass, just as bad clean as using. What a jerk!
least...I don't know about other parts of the country; but, in Jersey no one usually goes on a speaking commitment, or serves as chairman, or holds a group office until they have at least 90 days of sobriety. Unless it's changed a lot in the past four years, I would guess it's pretty much the same.

That Keaton's character was leading a meeting and still a jerk at 30 days says something either about the author's non-knowledge of AA, wherever the character was supposed to be from, or the quality of his sobriety. I have a feeling one of the reasons "newcomers" are discouraged from "leading/speaking" could be that it's a danger of being too much of an ego trip. Just a thought.

Sorry, Jo...

Didn't mean to skip over your post! Been a lot better..

Thanks for asking. Wow..this is a record for me..three whines in a day.

It's just..my mother and I are very low on supplies. I needed to get to

the store yesterday, and came down ill last night. We are both stubborn

and have a lot of pride. Don't want to call anyone to come and help us.

Wonder where I get it from? But it's nothing that can't absolutely

wait until tomorrow..I just hate feeling helpless.

And I don't have any fizzy water.

Sherry...stop! No moor poor meeees... lol

Hugs n Stuff back

My whine today is that a friend of mine is a wonderful seamstress and would be easily able to make a dog coat just like the one my beagirl has, only she doesn't do 'making' things, only alterations. I have the material and supplies to make a coat just like the one I can't find anymore that fits perfectly and is warm and dry.

THere was an alterations place downtown but the seamstress there wanted $65 to make a little dog coat! I can't afford that much and don't think it would take that much effort (for a good sewer) to be worth $65. Am so frustrated I could scream, but that won't get the dog coat made.

Damn!!

Ay Carumba!!!!

I've just got my heart rate slowed down to almost normal!!! I was just sitting here at the pc in my very quiet house. It's just me here right now, it's finally cool enough to turn the AC off & open the windows. It's a beautiful day here.

All I can hear is the faint/muted screams of the people having fun at the carnival down the street. They all scream in unison as they get spun around, on the rides.

I have to set the scene a bit more. On my kitchen counter/pass-thru I have a two tiered plate stand. It stands about two feet high including the metal pineapple at the top. I like to keep interesting stuff on the plates...right now I have some pretty snail shells and a giant seed pod- that is about a foot long.

So...I was sitting here in the next room when I heard a very sudden noise and 'stuff' spilling out across the tiled floor!!! I was sure that whatever caused the ruckus was a 'critter' of a fairly large size because the sound was LOUD!

I ran out there to find that the seed pod had exploded!!! Yep..it could only happen to me! I could tell by the inside of the pod that it held 8 seeds each the size of a penny.

I could only find 6 seeds close by. I found #7 ten feet away where it had a flown over the dining room table to my sliding glass door. I found #8 on the other side of the counter.....it had shot over the plate stand....and into my kitchen.

I usually collect the 1-2 foot pods from the poinciana trees- they look like giant brown grean beans, it's scary to think of the force that might come from one of those.

Holy flying, exploding seed pods!!!!

Embarq is again having trouble with email programs. This happens too often. When I had Earthlink I rarely had this trouble. I hope it's fixed soon! Grumble grumble...

I enrolled in online school and have to do a math/reading assessment to see what I know. Passed the reading one, no problem.

Do you know how many DECADES it's been since I did fractions? Thanks to google, I have gotten a refresher, but boy, do I feel old. Now I've got to figure out percentages and remember how to square numbers....my brain hurts!
