The House of Sand and Fog was great on book form also! The movie was excellent too though.

Ya all may like these coupla ones I saw recently......all very very good. I enjoyed them tremendously. Especially the one called "Dirty".....wow...I love the last line in the film....I forget the actors name in that one...but I highly recommend it.

Havoc was pretty good.....a different role for Anne Hathaway..I think she delivered....some of the scenes were uncomfortable for me..but it was keepin it real....so it's all good in that respect.......

also EndGame.........I adore Cuba Gooding, JR........

I am going to go rent some more movies later tonight.I own a million, but have seen em all multiple times.

I may get Pink Panther...........Steve Martin is awesome...........my very favorite movie of his is Dirty Rotten Scoundrel....Michael Caine is a dear too.......those two rock in that movie....I can watch and rewatch that movie!

Happy Movie Watching my friends! Hope your weekend is great for you.

I enjoyed Collateral ... I'd never seen Cruise play a bad guy before. He did well! As for Lady Vengeance, well, that's been recommended to me before. The person who recommended it said it was most excellent, but I have yet to see it.

Right now, I'm in love with "In Her Shoes." Love it!! Such a warm & huggy & happy-feely movie ... it's just great.

RENT

I also liked "The Constant Gardener" SO MUCH. Didn't expect for it to impact me as much as it did ... such a powerful movie.

Thanks for the recommandations, Tammie and Arura.

I watched "Collateral" and I must say Iīm impressed. Tom Cruise is absolutely fabulous in this movie. His acting is just tops as the hitman. I really enjoy movies by Michael Mann and I love the one with Al Pacino, "Revelations" was the idiotic title in French, the American one is... ouff! Cantīremember! Anyway, itīs about this scientist who goes on 60 minutes to blow the whistle on the tobacco industry. Extremely powerful. What is the title in English?

I loved the movie "Thirteen" with Holly Hunter. This young girl could have been me when I was her age. I watch it often. Itīs a very powerful movie about teenagers doing drugs in L.A. and how incredibly soon you can be caught up in this whole dope culture, beauty stuff and other things thatīs supposed to be "in".

Itīs funny you should mention "In her shoes", Arura. I watched that movie on the plane on the way to China. Itīs 12 hours flight time, by the way. I want to see it again, because you get easily distracted in planes and the hearing facility is bad. I grasped something about two sisters, Cameron Diaz being totally irresponsible and then meeting with her grand-mother played by Shirley McLane. I didnīt get why the older and responsible sister suddenly became a dog-walker, and then how she got engaged. I thought she was a lawyer and had an affair with the boss.

Tammie, I really liked "The Jacket."

So "The Constant Gardener" is good?

It should be showtime soon for me. Got to finish some work...

Love and light

Hi, finally some one here!

I am just about to look at what I have with me here (since IÂīm not home) and I think I will take a look at some favorite TV shows I taped. No heavy duty philosophical stuff tonight! ItÂīs enought I have to analyze films all the time, this club is for fun and therapy.

Did anyone here see the TV sÃĐries "Silent Witness"? ItÂīs about a forensic science with Amanda Burton. I love it. It reminds me of London and Cambridge where I lived for a while. I definately recommend it!

Hopefully some more people will visit the movie club. I feel kind of lonely here!:wink2: Any good films on recovery lately?

Love andlight,

Bonjour,

There is a national grief because of what happened to Zidane during the finale of World Cup in Berlin. Otherwise, Iīm not into football.

I never saw Cabin Fever, but I want to. I love creepy movies. Somehow they calm me.

I bought Aviator, as I love all the work of Martin Scorsese. I think he is one of the greatest film director alife. Itīs not one of my favorite movies of Scorsese though.

Now Iīm into symbolistic and thrill movies, so I will watch either Signs or The Village by M. Night Shamalan, who made The sixth Sense.

I was wondering about Collateral, there is a scene in the movie where the taxi driver is talking to his boss over the radio. The boss is abusive and threatening so Tom Cruise as the hitman takes over and talks to the boss in a super assertive way. I found it hilarious. Also, Tom Cruise, who just does the job and keeps things simple, finds out the taxi driverīs weakest spot. The latter has been driving cabs for years, pretending to be putting together a business idea, which he is too scared to actually put in motion. These interactions are great; like Tom Cruise says as to the taxi driver: I didnīt choose you, we met, just like Freud met dr. Ruth...

God, I love movies! What a powerful therapeutical tool.

Arura, you are my saviour right now. No one else here is watching films and Iīm sad today because itīs my national holiday, 14th of July, and Iīm not home in Paris. Well, Iīm not dying of grief, but I want to watch a film. Iīm looking at "Capote" with Philippe Seymour Hoffmann. He is one of my favorites, because he is such a good actor. I had problems with his voice, but when listened to interviews with Truman Capotes, it is almost the same voice!

Amazing. The movie has a beautiful simplicity, but it is dark. I loved the book "In Cold Blood" and Iīm curious to see the film.

Has anyone here seen it?

Last night I watched Firewall with Harrison Ford. It was alright. Better than I expected but not as good as I wanted! LOL.............I started to watch Ultraviolet for the 3rd time, fell asleep again!

My daughter loves Madea's Family reunion.

I also started Three Burials at Melquiades Estrada. it's a modern day western. I like Tommy Lee Jones, sometimes I pick movies based on the actors not the story or genre so we shall see how it is!

I want to see Basic Instint 2 and Annapolis but they are always out when I go to rent, maybe today they will be available, I have a free rental..I rent so many movies there I am always getting free movies! LOL.........

Well, back to trying to find a move to 'sweep me away'...... I guess I'll have to write the one I am looking for...........

Tammie!

I havenÂīt seen any of the films you mention. I want to see Basic Instinct 2, but I loved the first one by Paul Verhoeven so much that I didnÂīt want to let the sequel spoil it. I donÂīt know anyone who gave it a good review. ItÂīs interesting though. Tell me what you think when you see it.

I watched Capote last night and found it a bit depressing. Can you believe his voice? I know Philip Seymour Hoffmann mimics him correctly, as IÂīve listened to the real Capote, but ... unreal!

Arura, everything is well with the footie business. Listen, I think IÂīve seen Control, but IÂīm not sure. Are you in the UK? I used to live there once. How is London these days?

Love and light,

I almost rented Capote last week.

A movie I LOVE with Sharon Stone is The Specialist.........James Woods is really good in it too.

One of my favorite movies this year is Million Dollar Baby.........It was better than I expected and a real treat.

I haven't watched Goodfellas in a long while. Me thinks I'll have me a Mobsterfest tonight. May also watch Men of Respect.

I was disappointed in The Aviator............but it could have been worse!
