Bedtime Gratitude - Part 42- All Are Welcome!
Bedtime Gratitude - Part 42- All Are Welcome!
Grateful that tonight when I suddenly found myself thinking: "Maybe I can drink again one day, once I don't live alone anymore" I quickly kicked that thought to the curb.
Grateful my car is running well.
Grateful to keep paying attention to my true feelings about things in the moment.
Grateful my uncomfortable feelings push me to make wiser choices.

Tonight I am grateful for:
The winding down of a busy day.
The wonderment of new feelings developing and learning various ways of how to process them being sober.
Life, its very precious and can be gone quicker than the blink of an eye.
Chances, many dont take them and use them wisely.

Grateful for a good collaborative relationship with my psychiatrist.
And grateful for helping out with my Anorexics and Bulimics Anonymous phone meeting "home group" and participating in our business meeting.
Love and hugs,
Eddie

Grateful for:
My family and friends who were concerned today about my rash.
Grateful for the Minute Clinic who offered a temporary solution until tomorrow's next appt. The ladies there were so awesome.
Grateful for finally getting my Shingles shot; I thought I may have had that today.
Grateful for some family who I have been praying for; they seem to be getting kinder and are using some of what I learned about 'turning it over to God' alto they aren't declared Alcoholics.
Grateful to see how God works in our lives for others in mysterious ways. Grateful not to question the wonderful suggestions of fellow AAs who have gone before us.
Grateful for trying to be spiritual in all my daily living and, in doing so, feel closer to my Higher Power..it's an awesome feeling to have but I know I have to do the work first.
Grateful to all the words of members on the SR site that inspire me every day....

Grateful for our SNW, Opi, thanks for the new BG thread!
Grateful that I got a little rest. Last night found me hungry and tired which was leading to irritable and angry. Grateful it's a new day.

The Gratitude List
To Astro,
I heard early on: HALT (don't get too hungry, too angry, too lonely, too tired)
Thank you for your post which has reminded of what I learned but frequently forget!!!
That's why, to me, I am on this Site..as I believe that I am unable to follow what I was told back then unless reminded. Not just because I am old, or dumb...because Life get's sometimes in the way...and the SR entries by people like yourself keep me thinking soberly (most of the time). It's when I try to 'go it alone' I feel my head spinning with thoughts that do me no good)
You and all on SR Rock!!! Hope today is okay for you, even if just right now.
It's okay not to drink........It's okay to think Soberly....All is okay today!!

For the understanding of This Too Shall Pass and believing in it.
Grateful my buddy and I got to two different food pantries...
Patience is a virtue that we aren't born with!!!
I am grateful for the shelter provided to me this cold windy night...it would be nice if everyone had a warm shelter.
Grateful for SR....good night everybody....and good day too!

To EternalQ,
I am so sorry to hear your dog is ill and praying for a quick recovery for him and for you too..our animals are an important family member and it's heartwrenching when they are ill. Hope to hear he is better soon.

EQ, prayers for the puppy. I sure hope all goes well. Grateful you can take him/her to the vet.
Grateful I get to share parts of all your lives. Grateful that this thread reminds me I have things to be grateful for and to actively think about them!
Grateful for local Oregon v Stanford game tonight (even though pulling for Florida State).

Grateful tomorrow is Friday and I can see the Friday Nite Lites...
Grateful for a Lacrosse tournament this weekend.
Grateful I have a huge bandaid on my cheek covering an insect bite or they are not sure
Grateful for serenity at home except for occasional thoughts in my head, making me aware I am still an Alcoholic.
Grateful for SR and AA. My life would have been shorter and missed many wonderful things...and some heartaches along the way too...life on life's terms..
Grateful for Acceptance...and turning it over. Everything's ok right now.
