We are actually getting a bit of snow and expecting more today, and I am grateful to it. We have a snow hill on our acreage that the kids really enjoy... and we got new sleds for Christmas... AND, the temperatures are only minus 11 Celsius... no wind.. that is VERY mild for this time of year.
Grateful that the kids will go outside today to play... grateful for quiet time.

I'm so very grateful for the grats forums to read and share....thanks everyone for your continued encouragements....it makes a big difference in my days.
so very grateful that i do not have to jump into a work mode today....snow is due up here around noontime...we should get 12"....whatever, can't do anything about the weather.
grateful for strong coffee and a warm house...and that the stores are close by for that shopping.
back later for gratting updates....i am pleased that the threads move and grow.

SO very grateful Christmas is over!
Grateful I made it through sober. Yesterday was rough but very grateful I didn't cave. I would have hated myself this morning, but instead I am grateful, which is a much better feeling

Grateful for a good sleep under my new down blankie. Grateful to be sober and give the dogs a good healthy breakfast (with a bit of turkey for a treat). Grateful for the blessings that a sober lifestyle brings.
Today, I'm grateful that I didn't wake up to snow! It's suppose to snow this afternoon and I'm praying it's light and fluffy. You know the kind that won't break my back shoveling it.
Grateful that my house is fully stocked with food and drinks. So there's no need to join the mad rush at the grocery store.
Grateful that homemade oatmeal cookies and vanilla bean cake filled the void of booze on Christmas Day. (Don't know how grateful my waistline will be but you do what you can!)
Grateful that my booze-free body is actively fighting off a cold that's trying to take me down.
Grateful that I have another day sober under my belt. And that I'm looking forward to many more!

Grateful I don't need to go out...icy sidewalks and roads scare me.
The only times I've been seriously injured was caused by ice.
Oddly....my drinking was not a factor in those accidents.
Good morning from metro Atlanta....

I was walking the neighbor's dog a few years ago on a frozen ice patch...it had snowed and melted and turned the grass into a full iceblock....he pulled, i fell on my face, broke my nose and gave myself a mild concussion...no booze involved either..but i sure did get my bell rung!
i am grateful that i got what was needed and am back home....the only reason i will be going out is to take the dog for his whiz-runs...and put down some extra melt on the sidewalk after i sweep.
i'm grateful that it is sunday and not a monday where i would be at work, stressing about driving home....

belated congrats ms. sneezy!!! and a big hug.
grateful that my school is closed today, so i do not have to jump into the weather mess and try to drive to my parking garage...my school is in a different city and the snow cleaning is decidely sub-par compared to my town...whatta mess with such high wind that is a killer.
grateful that the dog seems to understand it is OK to do his business quickly and go back in immediately...pee-pads on standby, but if i put them down the cat thinks its a *blanket* and rolls on it....
grateful that the house is warm, the coffee is strong and hot and there is plenty to do to keep from getting bored.

I feel great today - we're also closed at work like you Fands, so it will be a
nice NORMAL day of picking up and cleaning out from the holidays
I was reading last night what Caroline Knapp said about her one year of sobriety:
At the end of my first year, I all but expected a parade: All that hard work, all that focus and resilience and faith; didn't I deserve a reward? Something like -- oh, I don't know -- a perfect life? But no. No pot of gold at the end of the alcoholic rainbow. Sobriety gives you ordinary ups and downs, garden-variety human struggles.
Well - if that's true - I'm very happy with garden-variety human struggles!
Especially since I feel like I can deal with them so much better today than a
year ago - and now I understand how much reaching out for help ... helps!
Thanks everyone

-Grateful for a calm, peaceful holiday
-Grateful to have power after the blizzard we got last night
-Grateful to watch the dogs play in the snow, and to take our son outside for a bit to see his first snowstorm
-Grateful to have a snow day today. I may go in late, but I'll probably just be out all day
-Grateful no one in our house is sick- it's the first time in a couple of weeks

Congratulations Sneezy......... great work!!!!
Grateful to be meeting my friends from high school school this morning... about 7 of us get together to chat each 27th of Dec. ... even after all these years. It is VERY cool. Grateful that I am not hungover this morning and can really enjoy the conversations.
Grateful to have got through the holiday without a drink.

tell me how to make bullets on my posts, please? it looks very nice.
grateful the sun is out and the forces on the Weather Channel predict 50 degrees by New years eve! so this 13-19" of snow should melt away before the next round!
grateful for a peaceful quiet day....there isnt much choice as i am not one of the idiots who feels the need to drive on the ice.....no reason so why tempt a problem?
there is good TV, movies galore, lots of food, happy pets and a warm house..if i get bored I can work on cleaning some of the mess that always accumulates....I am hosting a family dinner in 2 weeks, the house COULD be extra clean...and i have the time available today....or i can kick back and read my e-books.
grateful that i have a really cool tablet that downloads all the books i could ever want, and surf the web from anywhere.
grateful that i have the time today to cook...comfort food!
