Grateful for a comfortable home and warm blankets. Grateful for a vehicle that runs well.

Grateful for not automatically reacting and responding in ways I usually have, and just taking PAUSE before responding. It truly amazes me how difficult that is for me to sit on feelings and not acting automatically.

I'm happy and grateful for a generous paid time off plan at my job, because I don't have to hesitate to take a sick day when I'm not feeling well.

I'm happy and grateful for body positivity movements like No Body Shame on My Big Fat Fabulous Life. This is an issue I have struggled with so much my whole life, and it got so much worse during my marriage to STBXAH (as being called fata$$ is prone to make such things worse). Things like these body positivity movements have been such a great lifeline.

#15 - Grateful for the lessons learned in recovery being of use in other areas of life..... like when I got a phone call from an outrageous, rude, boundary-pushing client this morning for no apparent reason except to offload a bunch of tension & anger off on someone else. She was SO frustrated when she kept running into brick walls, unable to force me to engage or react.
Double grateful I only get a call like this about every 2-3 yrs on the average, oy!

Grateful for not having any regrets. Yesterday I was wondering if I made a mistake when I filed for divorce. I was wondering if the measure was too much. The answer is, nope. It was exactly what I had to do and the only option considering all the circumstances. I remembered all the bad words, all the "incidents," baiting into fights, accusations, they all came at once. It will take some time to recover, to get the self-confidence back. But I am grateful for being able to finally see all this. And no, I have no regrets.

Yesterday- grateful for Alanon service work. Four of us did public outreach at a college health fair that was more like a mini spa vacation. Free reiki sessions, chair massages and healthy treats- black bean brownies, samples from the local organic dairy, trays of fresh fruit and veggies. Oh yeah, and we handed out a bunch of literature and schedules and answered some questions from interested folks. I think once we share our experience we're going to have a LOT more volunteers for next year.
Today- grateful for a one on one creative session at the local arts center. Got to meet with a local writer and share some of my work and had a nice long work session. Looks like it's going to be a weekly thing, so I'm really excited.

Oct. 22 - Grateful x15.
Grateful for fully waking after a few hours of sleep last night (I did NOT see that coming when I couldn't sleep! ). Did meditations to physically and mentally release the stress of work yesterday, to recognize it was a difficult day, to allow myself to see and feel these things that hold in my body without me realizing it. It's so easy to stuff my emotions, to think I should have done better.... now it's becoming easy to release those old ways of thinking and be kind to myself. Grateful for a wonderful, energetic day today! Kept things simple, worked with confidence and feeling much kindness towards myself and others.
Grateful for HP, my physical therapist and Dr. Kristin Neff for guiding me in this.

October 22: Thankful for the sage oil that a recovery friend sent me--I dabbed some onto a sage/cedar incense stick, burned it this AM before leaving for work and returned to a heavenly-smelling house. There is something special about sage, for sure.
