Yeah, you've earned it. The fact that you have not lost your sense of humor shows that you are one tough kitty-kat.

Oh yeah, that suggestion about cabin pressure in an airplane is right. Been there, done that. Did the doc give you some pain pills? Take them with on that plane. Trust me on this, I know _all_ about pain, drops in cabin pressure _will_ make things act up.

I can't think of a pain any more miserable than a tooth one.

I'm so sorry Lexie! I grimaced reading your post and your pain is palpable .

Hugs!.

The nerve pain you get from toothache is the worst. Hope you're feeling better now the tooth is out.

Well, the good news is that I slept reasonably well (woke up once and took some ibuprofen). It feels much better this morning. Bad news is that I dozed back off and didn't wake up till almost 6 and I still have to pack.

I called the airline and got re-booked on the 9:25 flight (which is actually a shorter flight and gets me there the same time). There was a $40 fare difference, which I will happily eat if my office doesn't reimburse me.

I can pack very fast these days, but no way I could have made the earlier one. This one is manageable (and it was worth $40 to get a bit more rest and not have to rush).

Thanks for the kind wishes. I don't think the cabin pressure will bother me. It's the lower jaw, not up by my sinuses.

I did finally figure out what the "no sucking" means, but I cannot go without either e-digs or straws, so I'm being VERY careful. Never had a problem before (famous last words, anyone?). I'm hoping to make it to the airport in time for a nice plate of scrambled eggs.

Oh, and FireSprite, I hope you feel better, too! Even if it feels better today see the dentist right away--having it hit on the weekend or something is even scarier.

Survived the trip--I just took it very easy, ordered room service (the hotel was "under renovation" and the lobby looked EXACTLY like the hospital after it was overrun by zombies in The Walking Dead--wires hanging down from ceiling, etc.).

I didn't feel like I was on top of my game in terms of the training, but it seemed to go well anyway, and having a colleague there to train with helped enormously.

Everything seems to be healing just fine, though I'm still being cautious with how I chew. I have a missing upper tooth on the other side (need to get an implant there), which makes it a little tricky to chew on the other side of my mouth.

Our travel-manager-type person is going to ask the client if they will pay for the $40 fare difference (which I wouldn't have asked for if it had been just a matter of plain old oversleeping), but it's debatable whether they will. Not that big a deal if I have to cover it, though.

The shuttle picked me up at 3:50 am this morning, though, so I'm getting to bed early tonight.

Well, good ol' Bill is the kind of guy* we train law enforcement how to put in prison for a good, long, time. Sadly, there is a little thing called the statute of limitations.

But I'll never feel the same about pudding.

*allegedly

All these lovely(and humourous) posts are better than any medication Lexie.
(You didn't mention whether the tooth fairy had been-or do you not have her in the U.S ?-shame!).

Aw, MAN! The TOOTH FAIRY.

I'm sad to say that my dentist *ahem* misappropriated my tooth. Probably stuck it under his own pillow. Maybe I should see a lawyer. He's probably paying for his Lexus with all the teeth he's collected.

Wonder if there's an air-fare fairy...

Thanks, Seren, yeah, I'm just trying to avoid anything sharp and too crunchy (e.g., tortilla chips).
