Dam you're good CodeJob.

Hammer, quit laughing and listen to the woman

You can't fix Mrs. H, but you can get yourself and kids out of the trench.
Third match again. . .

Hammer, I'm sure you know humor cam be used as a mask to keep others and ourselves from seeing our real feelings.

What do you see in the mirror when you take off the mask?

I can tell you I didn't like what I saw at all when I took off mine.

Your friend,

Somebody who is just laughing back because we are not attached to Crazy (anymore).

You know what I am really wondering?

If I can do this version of "Somewhere Over the Rainbow," crossed over onto my Banjo.

I do believe I can.

Well, if you really want a banjo challenge, Hammer....

Try looking up New Grass Revival's version of "I'm down". Bela Fleck is the finest banjo player of his age--a real virtuoso....let me know what you think

I change the lyrics to 99 problems to 99 problems but a p $!ck ain't one. Lol. Btw love this thread. Your description of the shark women in AA reminded me of something straight out of a Stephen King book. Know what you mean about meth Beth safe people to be nice to that won't try to pluck you. I am struggling with something that I can't even bring myself to post about yet but this thread was very helpful. Also some gave me a good laugh like the videos. Got a kick out of the 70s show where she says the Waltons were the perfect family. I always loved those Waltons too!

Hammer,

No joke. My dad said that to me the first time I brought home my ex ex bf to meet him. The very first thing out of his mouth after bf and I drove 4 hours up to dad's house as soon as we walked in the front door was "Missfixit, get in the kitchen and make that boy a sandwich!" The first words out of my mouth were "he can make it himself."

Hammer, I really love reading your posts! What a great thread! If you ever decide to write a book I'll definitely buy a copy.

I am definitely struck by the difference between AA and Alanon meetings - I like when the Alanon ones also have the AA laughter. Many a truth can be spoken in jest.

I went to a big inclusive - AA and Alanon - speaker meeting a few months ago. Being checked out by guys roaming up and down the aisles was a little different! It made me feel a little flattered to be noticed, but it was empty and it didn't seem so special...it felt like there was a competitive hunt going on...

And that cockiness...when my XRABF (not sure how all those letters are supposed to line up) was looking sideways and dripping with it...it was like a glass wall that I couldn't connect over...

Thank you for this thread...it's time I finally started trying out those darn steps, too.
