Congrats! I'd be jealous but I've had it once or twice too. =)

Things are going well here. Day 115 here and staying super strong. Work has been tough but some weeks are like that. Here's to Friday!!!!! Hope everyone has a fantastic weekend!

Happy Friday, Mayans!

It looks like a beautiful day here. Not exactly hot, but it's a balmy 21 F!

Doing well! Taking a few days to really relax has been perfect! Snuggling with my kitty, working on latest jigsaw puzzle, reading, listening to music and going to the gym.

I hope we all have a good and sober weekend :-)

Love and (((hugs)))

I'm absolutely and totally exhausted. I run on adrenaline most of the time, the stress keeps me alert even after having had very little sleep, but every so often the tiredness catches up with me and I feel quite nauseous.
Still H is out tonight and the kids are doing their own thing, so I can sit and read and doze. Bloody perfect!

What's everyone up to this weekend?

Happy Friday everyone:

Lots of rest and relaxation is on the books for the entire group, I hope. My H. and I will be doing a few chores around the house and cheering on our football team, SF 49ers on Super Bowl Sunday. We will also attend a community play with H's mom and dad. So, it should be a full weekend. Each of you have a nice weekend, no matter what you do!
Take care

Busy weekend here. Sanding and painting by day. Dinner with friends and family by night. Transient thoughts of being tired of holding up the sobriety responsibility. I think I just have a lot on my to do list that I'm tired of and my AV is grabbing hold and switching the cause. Its also reminding me that I never actually intended to quit forever. Relentless. But I don't think I'm in any danger. I don't think I could possibly bring alcohol to my lips after all I've/we've been through. So don't be worried. But figured I'd get the thoughts out of my head. I have to get myself out of my head to be honest. I don't know I think so much but I do. Anyways, I hope everyone is having a good weekend.

OLL, I have faith in you and believe that you will be ok. Can you make time in there somewhere this weekend to relax with a walk, a good book, or whatever helps you to relax? Even though my closets are almost done, I've taken a break and am letting them sit not quite finished. And I'm discovering that it feels good.

I think it's really important for us to take care of our emotional needs.

I hope you have a good weekend! Sending you love and (((hugs)))!

Sassy

Whoa, Mammoth! If Mammoth has to scrunch into the back seat, think of the rest of our poor Mayans -- flat as pancakes we are .... on the instant weight-loss plan unexpectedly.

I like my pink Lambo with the gold tusks :-)

Besides, what happened to tha skinny, super athletic Mammoth?!

OLL-I hadn't realised that your original plan wasn't to give up drinking forever. What was your plan in the beginning?x

My original plan was to make it through one full week to prove I had control and didn't have a problem. But then that week didn't seem like much, so I planned to make it through two weeks. And so on. Then I read so many stories here about people who did that and went back and never gained control or moderation. And I fell in love with you all here. And I realized I'd never be able to drink again. And I've wanted to never drink again. But my AV's latest tactic is to remind me I only intended to go a week in the beginning. Just transient minor longings. But it can't erase the reasons why I changed my mind. So it's plum out of luck.

Good morning, Mayans!

A beautiful but chilly Saturday morning.

OLL, I don't think it matters what your plans were when you stopped (and i'm sure you already know that), what matters is what you do now. Yes, that AV can play quite a siren song but you know how to outlast it now and I'm sure you will. I think it's a good example of what most or all of us go through or will go through -- that stray AV idea that perhaps we actually can drink. Times like those are, I think, when a group like this can be especially helpful.

Perhaps that recurrence of the AV is also a good time to check in with ourselves to see if we've been inadvertently letting ourselves get too stressed out and see if it may be time to take a pause and see if we need a break from whatever it is we are doing.

Have a happy Saturday to all!
