OOooh first in! It's been a long day and I'm ready for bed. Trying not to get stressed about the goings on with my son and his ex!
Thank you Bloss for the congrats and I hope your dog gets better soon. xx
Hi WWG, well done for not being lured into buying filthy booze.
Morning Dee, hope you have a good day.
Night night all, sleep well.

Hey Underoos,
(disclaimer - posted the same msg in November, One Year and Under and 30 Days and Under Thread so feel free to skip)
So my first day of work went awesome. When they said it was "non-stop and go-go-GO" they weren't joking. The day flew by though. When I first met my work partner he said, "Ohhhh s***...". After introducing himself he said... "Here's your jacket." It was a size medium. I ordered a size XL. I'm 6'2'' and about 225 lbs. It looked like I was wearing a UPS halter top with sleeves that didn't even go halfway down my forearms. I asked him how ridiculous I looked and he said, "Pretty damn ridiculous. You look like a bodybuilder masquerading as a UPS worker." Anyway, I'm supposed to have a new jacket tomorrow.
I almost completely forgot about this but early this morning on my way to work I stopped at the grocery store to pick up a couple of protein bars. There was a liquor store right next door. I thought, "Hmmm, maybe a pint of vodka would ease the first day jitters." I actually thought this over for maybe a minute or so and decided against it. I had completely forgot about it until right now so I think that's a good sign.

Good Morning All,
Bloss - I hope your little Blossom is doing well. What kind of dog is she? How did she injure her eye? I also have a dog with eye issues that I have taken to a specialist. She is only five years old. Apparently, her eyes do not produce tears. This produces horrendous puss in her eyes that I have to clean at least 3x a day. She is on two separate medications that I give twice daily. Another dog keeps shaking his ear. He seems to get ear infections frequently. He is not yet three. I am picking up my pups from their neutering on saturday. I have to pick up special kidney food for my 17 year old cat and more heartworm medication at that time. Whew - these vet bills are really getting expensive!
JJay - Good job at shutting down the momentary urge to drink! Momentary is key, because it doesn't last. I feel very fragile in my recovery and wonder how I will deal with the impending death of my cat and my mother and any other catastrophe that comes my way. My brain actually thought "It would be okay to drink through a death and just get back on the wagon". I thought "OMG - I don't want to drink over it, it would make me 1000% more depressed and I need to grow up". Our addicted brains are going to go there because that is what we are used to doing. Retraining the addicted brain takes practice and dilligence every day. The rewards for me have been such a pride in myself and physically and mentally feeling so much better.
Hope everyone has a good day

Starting Day 15 here. Got up at 5:45 this morning and hit the gym before work. Gonna make a nice breakfast, shower and head off to my job. I'm a little sore from yesterday but it's a good kind of sore
Hope everyone has a great day!

Good afternoon lovely undies, I hope you're all well and having a good day/night. I'm in work at the moment so need to make this post quick!
Hi Eli, good to see you posting again, I hope the tiredness has eased. How are things going for you, what day are you up to now?
Hi Tanja, hope you're well and have managed to get a bit of sleep. I feel so sorry for out furry friends when they're unwell, they have to suffer in silence, if only they could tell us where they are hurting! Vets fees are astronomical here too.
I can relate to what you said re the impending passing away of your old cat and your poor mum, all I can say is we'll cross that bridge when it comes, one day at a time. Big hugs to you (( ))
Jjay Aka 'The incredible Hulk', I'm glad your first day went well and I'm proud of you for not succombing to the vile vodka! I have already replied to your post on the under 30's.
WWG, Good to hear you had some quality time with your lovely daughter last night and a massive well done on being sober. Keep it up, you sound much more positive this time.
Must dash
See you all later
Stay safe and sober

Just for today I will do something that I want to do, not something that somebody else thinks I should do

Hi there guys and gals
Back safely from my trip down south. Quite a stressful day but thankfully a good outcome for my wee brother. Great see to see my dad even although it was brief we all still managed a nice lunch together. (mum and dad divorced but still great friends..lol)
Been reading all your posts but a little tired from journey so glad you're all doing ok.
Keep up the good work and stay healthy and happy.

Hey all! I just want to apologize to the people who are in this thread and the Under 30 Days thread. I enjoy both threads and I tend to post updates that are virtually identical.
Anyway - had a good 2nd day at work. The only downside is that my boots are a bit too small and still really stiff. Ended up finding blood in my socks when I finally got home and took 'em off. I think I'm gonna wrap my toes tomorrow so they can't rub up against each other. All in all - a good day. Went to the gym before work. Had a good, productive work day. Gonna rest my feet and make some chicken soon.
Hope everyone is well

Sounds like all of you are doing well today. I think all of us have a better chance of dealing with life when we stay sober. Those thoughts come my way too, maybe I can only drink during a certain hard, stressful time. I am honest with myself, of course I can't pick up the first drink, I' d be off to the races. It is reassuring to see all of you pushing those thoughts out of your heads. Alcohol or whatever was our crutch, ended up hurting us and those close to us.
JJay: so happy you are liking your job, hope you can get the right sized uniform
Nicky: being with family can be stressful, sounds like all in all everything turned out as alright, try to get some rest for yourself
Germanos: 37...stay with us
Grace: hope all is well with your son, ex....
WWG.: enjoy your family time
Tanja: Blossom is an older rescue dog, medium to small mixed breed Australian and ??? Cat strike to the eye was how it happened. She will probably need surgery, she's on meds., but she could lose her eye...according to vet. Bottom line, sad! Really sending positive thoughts out to the universe for healing of her eye.
Eli, EFC, MycoolFitz: hello, glad you're with us Under One Years....
Stay strong group
