.. So I am sanding floors .. got the rental drum sander with 36 grit to 60 or 100 .. got the 8Inch rental disc sander with 36 and 80 or so for edges ..

.. and then .. we have my grinder .. at 4" running 24 grit at about IDK 8000 RPM ? ... which will level metal
.. but it is dangerous and .. ya need a respirator and hearing protection ..

.. reminded me of being in the ship yard .. but this thing ain't no joke at 24 grit it rips anything up ..

..

.. yeah I can level metal ..

.. Darth Blacky ..

Yeah, you've got all the good tools Blacky. I've got a crap little whetstone and an 18th Century sharpening wheel, without a base. Watch those sparks fly.. Ha ha

I've started on my blade and can see the steel underneath. Dont know how I'll go with bevelling the blade back to cut ya head off quality., whetstone I guess.

Hope you are doing OK and in the end it really is about pressing on and not drinking. It will all come out in the wash Darth.

I think I'll steer clear of electric grinding tools until my whetstone skills have been honed. Gotta start from the basics to really see what the job means.

Same as cropping pictures (here) as when I used scalpel, light box, and a good set square.

I miss the art of printing. I'd never do it again.

When heavy metal (lead) was used to form type and composed to form pages. Dangerous chemicals, particularly solvent (freezes) , so it does get into your blood, that's why I got out.

They mess with your liver and fortunately my liver is fine. Got lucky ditched Hep C. Too. My system is clear of it. And they still argue about the use of safe injecting rooms.

I was part of that push when the first one was introduced into Kings Cross. The beginnings of harm minimisation and a reshaping of the disease model. Before it was legal our boss, a doctor, set up a table outside of the hospital handing out free, clean syringes. He really put his job on the line. It was great. And stuff improved.

Hope your meeting went well if you went today/tonight. From my experience it has always been the people who comprised the meeting that made the real difference. I used to really like Beginner's Meetings because everyone were beginners. Felt welcome.

Hi to everyone now I'm going to lie down and rest. A big day. ,

Morning Soberwolf. Early evening here and very tired. Hope you are doing good as I know you always do. No BS.

Just wanted to clarify my last post I didn't work with the heavy metal and stuff, and operated have operated presses. But was completely surrounded by it working as a proof reader in a big printery, right in the centre. It was great.

Read some really interesting stuff from the Form Guide (the Trots), to highly political stuff. Printing taught me a lot. Those old monks knew what they were talking about. So did Gutenberg

Once worked as a proof reader at a porn magazine. Shoulda seen the sleazy old guy in the back room writing to himself. Didn't stay there long.

Said I was tired but I woke up and had an idea.

Night all.

Good morning everyone. Hope you are all well.

Hope you are batting on too Blacky. From what I can work out you and I have been around this block more times than once and are not going to get too many more chances. Thanks for your ongoing and open human interaction it has helped me enormously.

Big day ahead for me and am looking forward.........
