I have to be up to send a FAX just after midnight, otherwise I would go to bed early.

This is my third NYE without drinking. That doesn't mean I have that much sober time by any means, but I love waking up to the new year without a hangover. And I really want to make 2014 the best yet and I know that keeping alcohol out of the picture is the only way that can happen! Here's to a sober 2014!

9 pm where I am. I'm sitting at home , sober. I'll go to bed sober and get up and do it all again. I'm 17 days sober on my second real attempt at quitting. I have no desire to drink tonight. I had to listen to everyone at work today discussing their various plans to get hammered and the whole time I felt like that is just not part of my life anymore and never will be again.

Well I can at least say I didn't drink on New Year's Eve and will start 2014 sober.

Beats last year when I was ****** on on vodka, klonopoin, and acid...then didn't sleep til 1 PM.

This is my fourth sober holidays and all continuous sober time. I vaguely remember puking over the side of the bed, cotton head, sand dry mouth, getting the twirlys, but it has been a while thank goodness! Not going back. No cravings, don't miss it, don't want it. Not deprival just survival. Life is good without the drama. And without all the drama kings and queens I used to hang out with. I don't miss my bad old days one whit. False bravado, fool's games, no more.

Second consecutive sober New Year's Eve. Best of all, I can now say 2013 was the first ENTIRE calendar year since I was probably 14 (I'm 33 now) that I've had NO alcohol, drugs, or cigarettes. May 2014 be the second. Happy new year to all of SR!

2:15 AM, just arrived home from a New Years gig.
5 Hour Open Bar for the crowd. Band always drinks free.

I did not drink alcohol tonight.
My winning streak continues.

H. N. Y.!

Big Kudos for all who stayed sober - for those who didn't make it, 2014 is a fresh page

11:59 p.m. in California, and if I am not cocky and keep in my head that I live in a "now' state of mind and I don't get cocky and I remember where I came from I just might officially be able to say this is my fourth sober New Year's Eve.

Peace everyone.

And thanks to the mods here. Good stuff.

Hi. I know I'm an old fa.t but years ago it was pointed out to me that many of these celebrated days are really just another day. I haven't had a drink in a lot of years on many important, to me, days.

BE WELL
